Okay I have a '07 S2R 800 (Black), and would like to put on pipes that are nice to look at, loud, and get rid of that damn "udder" thingy. Well what would I have to do to get rid of the udder thing, get a full system? How much do the ECU's go for, or is it cheaper to run a PCIII? Also are the Termi's the best, or good cause they have the ECU. I like Arrow and Zard quality, but I want to see what options I have. If you guys have pics of exhausts that I can mount onto a '07 S2R 800 could you please post pics.
thanks

hey Spinned - ive just put on the black stainless Sparks like your's on my S2R1000 - f. hot . at the same time tail cut from competition werkes. bike looks much better and sounds kewl. dropping the cat out gained 3hp on the dyno, but i could probably get more if i get a new ecu, pcIII and tune it less lean. i'll post a pic when i take one.

Do either of you have sound clips of your spark systems? I would kill to hear them so I can make a good judgement on them versus Termis...

Very Cool Q!
I have the ECU in my bike and the the airbox open so I can really open it up.
DWKRNG... I have a digital tape recorder, but how or where would I upload a file? You can PM me and I can probably make a clip and email it to you.

http://boxstr.com hosts sound files for free. You just need to make an account - take about 1 min.

Thanks! Some things to do still (when I find the time) and then I stop modding. Enough is enough.
I love the Quat-D ExBox. The way it looks, the way it fits the bike and how it sounds.
And the way it's modded. ;D

Celli what kind of exhaust is that? Mac_48 what kind of exhaust is that?
I like the side mount, and twin canister. I need to be able to see all my options. IMHO I think the site should have a thread of purely exhausts and clips of sound bits for each. And that should be pinned/stickied.
cg
Keep more pics coming though, as I still want to see the other exhausts lurking around.
Do the ones used in Celli's or Mac_48's bikes legal even? And what is the Quat d Ex-Box? Is that the low-slung exhaust? Would that damper any power that type of exhaust?
thanks guys
Mac's is the exbox. Celli's looks like a set of boom tubes.

Yes, it's an Exbox with custom tips. ;)

Does the Ex-Box lose any power? It is a sweet looking thing, but it doesn't have the pipes or so it would seem. Like it would lose back pressure on the exhaust and lower power perhaps. With anything else but the Termi's you either need to buy a PC-III is that correct?

I have the Arrow CF pipes and can attest to the aforementioned loudness factor [thumbsup]

The termi shorty is in their catalog at something like $625 or close to it. It says that it's designed for the bike to be set up with Monoposto. I do not believe it comes with a ECU.
Asado, which do you prefer between the exbox and the shorty termi? I pulled my pipes off my bike to clean them after hitting a ton of tar on a 100+ degree day. Ran it without pipes and LOVE the look, but they are a little too loud for me. I feel bad driving in the neighborhood.

Thanks for the compliment. I believe the shorty came out last year and made for the Rs model due to the udder diameter. I know a fellow member with an S2R1k made it work with a different sized clamps. Sound wise, the Termi is louder without the baffle installed. The Ex-box is still fairly loud but the sound is more mechanical and the termi gives you more of a rumble. Power wise, I cant tell you if i gained or lost hp with either set up (set up is 14T front sprocket, open airbox and re-mapped ecu) and frankly, I did it for the looks (the Rs is more than enough for my style of riding). I lost weight for sure since the stock udder weighs a ton.
DucPete; I prefer the Ex-box mainly because I lost some weight and I got rid of the not so appealing udder. I did the same while I was waiting for the termi and although it sounds mean, it gave me a headache and my ears were buzzing after a few minutes of riding.

Wow have you actually had someone ride with you with the shorty? It looks like the exhaust would cook a passenger's foot.
This is directed at asado too. Do either of you have a DP ECU on the bike? I remember seeing and reading a lot of your bike asado, but it was on the old board and I prefer not to log in there.
**edit** I just read in another thread that you, Asado, do NOT have the DP ECU. I agree that I'd rather not spend $1000+ on it if I don't have to. I also read that you're going with the open airbox. Is that still working out for you?
Thanks guys
**one other question. Did you two bolt it on yourself? I'm assuming it's pretty easy to do.

Do you want something different or a set of pipes everyone has? I've seen a ton of Arrows and Termis (not that there's anything wrong with that) but if I've got a unique bike, I wanted something a little different.

That look tight! Got any pics from the side?
Were the headers black from the factory or did you get them coated?
Also, by "6 blocks," I'm guessing they are a wee loud? Did you take out baffles, or do they have baffles you can put in to dampen the sound a bit? I'm looking for lower and louder, but not too much...
-Toby
Thanks guys. I really love your bikes as well.
Factory Arrows that I chopped a little more than 3" and had ceramic coated in "satin" black (not quite flat). Cutting and riveting and fitting them back together were a pregnant dog but winter is long in Wisconsin and I am pleased with the results.

WHAT, CAN'T HEAR YOU?!
CF Arrows do not have baffles. I have an open air box and a PC3 with a custom map. Since the chop they are even louder yet. Loud is good.
If you can track down GRAZI he will tell you about a baffle kit he purchased directly from Arrow and retrofitted to his CF cans. It worked nicely and the restriction helped with low-end power. Otherwise it'll have to be Titanium Arrows or another brand.
I don't want to threadjack anyone but I'll get you a fresh pic or two tonight.

Sorry to whore this thread but here are the pictures you requested. I am having a little trouble with the ceramic coating with rock chips. It looks bad in the pictures but it is mostly dirt. I have been planning on adding a long belly for a while now and that will block the wind and eliminate the chipping.
