A high school friend of mine passed away on August 6th when he wrecked on his 695 in a turn. I hadn't planned on putting anything up here but I can't stop thinking about the accident and have not really talked to anyone about it.
Excerpt from memorial service organizer
"Geoff died on August 6th on his motorcycle, on his daily ride throughout Charleston, SC. He went around a corner just a little too fast and lost control of the bike, hit a tree head on, and the helmet simply wasn't enough. Geoff died of blunt force trauma to the head."
Geoff was 22 years young and a recent graduate from The Citadel Military College of South Carolina. You meet lots of people in your life and remember very few, Geoff was one of those people you remember. I had just spoken to him a few days prior about riding and how odd it was that we both ended up with Duc's. I don't know what else to say.

I hope I'm not out of line posting a photo of him on his bike.

RIP Geoff. Condolences to family and friends.
Sorry to hear.
Godspeed, Geoff.
Thank you everyone.
You hear about death everyday in the news but it really hits home when it's someone you know, especially when they lost their life doing something you do.
Thanks again.
Hopefully he died instantly.....no knowledge of the crash or any pain.
When I crashed last November I got knocked out , I could have died and I would have never known what happened 'cause when I came too I didn't have any recollection of the crash.
Lose of life is always sad when it happens to young people or our family or friends.
Know that others are sending you good thoughts and prayers for you to get through this difficult time.

Very sad news. My condolences to you and his family. RIP Geoff.
my condolences for the loss of your friend.
Lost a friend of mine on a Sport Classic this spring. Been a tough year for Duc riders.
RIP
I lost a friend at your age and it definitely changed my life. Hate to see these stories where he was wearing his gear and this still happened.
Remember it's up to you to carry on his legacy.

I think about him and the accident every time I get on the bike. It has definitely changed the way I ride. I am by no means riding scared just more cautiously.
Sincere condolences for your loss.
Sucks man, no two ways about it. Unfortunately if you ride long enough it will come up. We lost a monster rider from our local club last year. Great guy. Still no idea why he went down.
RIP Geoff.
Sorry for this painful loss.
Sorry to read this, and sorry for your loss. I don't know what to say that hasn't been said already... everyone be safe out there. :-[
