Title: M1100 Front Tyre Wear Post by: BRH on August 29, 2010, 08:14:22 AM Hi, anyone Else suffering with premature front tyre wear on there M1100, i mean iv done 1600 miles on my bt016 and it's starting to look very worn on the sides, i think il be lucky to see 2500 miles out of it. I'm running standard suspension settings and the correct tyre psi. In the past i would get at least 4000 plus on a GSXR Thou, or R1 doing the same sort of riding.

I've been maintaining about 36 in the front and 34 in the rear tire and have had no problems. >5000 on the tires now. They're both looking good still!

Front was absolutely scrubbed to buggery on both sides and the back revealed its steel belt. Shoulda changed em at 6000kms, but I wanted to see just how far I could wring out of em. Pressures checked before every ride, 34/34.

I was extremely unhappy with the tire (the OEM BT016 that comes with the bike is different to the Bridgestone that you can buy off the shelf, so I learned). However, I am now having the Micheline Pure installed and the difference is like day and night. So, even if there is still some thread on the BT016, personally, I would bin it and get the Pure installed (even far better than the Pirelli Diablo Rosso that is installed on the M796 of my wife; and way better than the PilotPower 2CT that I'm used to ride).
