I just installed my new set of DP "old style" pipes on my 01 M750.  I also installed a K&N air filter.  The video shown is now where near how loud these pipes are in person.  If you like loud pipes, try to scavenge these from somewhere.  They rock.  There is another overseas company who makes these but I don't think they were a direct replacement like the DP's were.

Conti replicas. More than a few of us have these (Me, BP, JeffH) and yes, they are LOUD.

"My neighbors hate me" loud.

"Turn off the motor and coast the last few blocks home" loud.

Did I mention they are loud?

I've seen a ton of other setups and all the carbon bling in the world can't make up for the classic lines of a set of megaphones. I scuff sanded mine and hit them with a coat of grill matte black except for the tips and they bring a smile to my face every time I fire the bike up.

My neighbor has an HD Dyna with drag pipes, we get along just fine with late night ride throughs :)

Yeah, I thought the bright chrome might be a bit too bright considering my bike doesn't have any chrome at all.  Powder coating them flat black was an option but the powder coat doesn't adhere well to chrome and to properly do it I would have to strip the chrome finish off.  Very expensive. 
I shot for these pipes because I too love the lower profile classic look of these pipes.  I'm not a big fan of carbon fiber or the huge stock aluminum cans either.  It really does sound like a big v-twin.

I believe you that they are loud, but in the video they don't sound loud at all.  I'd love to hear them in person to be able to gauge them myself because they do like right.

If you think the chrome is too bright simple scuff it up with some 3M Scotch Brite pads and you will end up with a finisih similar to the air cleaner on this bike. (http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm21/JonTravisKing/Harley%20Wide%20Glide/20100506_01.jpg?t=1283965480)

It is the same technique that Exile Cycles uses to tone down the chrome on their bikes.

You're going to have to look for NOS or a set of used ones.  They stopped making the DP conti pipes a while ago.

Thanks.  Saw these (http://www.roadandrace.com.au/cat19.htm), but at anywhere from $600 - $1000 for a pair, tad bit expensive...

I was lucky enough to connect with a very helpful member of these boards who happened to have a brand new set of these laying around.  These were exactly what I wanted so I grabbed them right away.  It was a case of right place at the right time.  Do some detective work.  Someone has a set somewhere.
