Title: Brutalina Post by: iRam on September 08, 2010, 08:37:23 AM 3 cylinder brutale

i know i like the 796, but if the brutale 3 cylinder is around the same price with abs with oly a slight premium i would highly consider it a nice step. Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: spolic on September 08, 2010, 09:21:32 AM I kind of did it. (the pipes)
Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: Monster Dave on September 08, 2010, 09:40:11 AM I kind of did it. (the pipes) It's not awful and I certainly don't mean to insult anyone who likes it or (in this case) has done something similar, but my opinion is strictly regarding the pictured Bratale. Our 675 looks and sounds awesome with it's triple exhaust. Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: Travman on September 08, 2010, 03:30:47 PM Reminds me of the "ray gun" exhaust on the BSA Rocket 3
(http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/1969-bsa-rocket-3-5.jpg) Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: muskrat on September 08, 2010, 03:55:17 PM it's official, the ugliest exhaust to date. the bike does appeal to me though. wonder if I can buy $3k termis for it. [evil]
Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: sbrguy on September 08, 2010, 03:56:15 PM hmm now that you mention it the triple exhaust is a bit strange looking in that size and configuration, maybe if they changed the size of the tips or something it could look better or do the f-4 type accordian exhaust and put it under the seat to clean it up and make it different than the brutale.

The headlight, speedo box, front turn signals, the seat!! The seat is identical!! The headlight, speedo box, front turn signals, the seat!! The seat is identical!! *shrugs* It looks a lot like a lot of things. All the manufacturers seem to be aping each others styling. Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: il d00d on September 09, 2010, 04:48:56 AM Good catch on the seat - the guage cluster is also an apparent copy/paste. I think it is safe to say "A sneak peak at what MV’s middleweight Triple might look like" is Cycleworld-ese for "this is what our photoshop monkeys could come up with."
Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: jvax on September 09, 2010, 05:32:37 AM It's pretty hard for me to believe a European (Italian!!) manufacturer would copy paste a Japanese design. No offense to the Japanese (I live in Japan and love the country), but it's the Japanese who are known for copy-pasting. But then again, the Gladius did come out more than a year ago [shrugs]
Or... could it be both manufacturers randomly decided to pick those parts from the same supplier or hire the same subcontractor... :-\ Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: duccarlos on September 09, 2010, 05:46:01 AM It's the same bike [laugh]
This one has been in the works for years, so they probably sketch it out, but never built it. Suzuki probably thought "their loss" and built it themselves. When the new old owners took over in MV they probably realized they needed something new. And here you go! Something to be said about not rushing stuff into market. Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: muffinman on September 09, 2010, 06:59:35 AM It DOES look like the Gladius.. but the Gladius was... "inspired" by the Brutale... so what came first? The chicken or the egg? ;)
Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: Monster Dave on September 09, 2010, 07:38:22 AM Is it just me or does it remind anyone else of the Suzi Gladius shapewise?? The headlight, speedo box, front turn signals, the seat!! The seat is identical!! (http://www.suzuki-moto.com/images/galerie/grand/SFV650L0_YBD-YBA_E19_D.jpg) If you look really close, the front fender is exact as well - if you ask me it's a Photochopped image. Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: iRam on September 09, 2010, 07:59:25 AM imho its the suzuki that copied the general look of the brutale because the general look of the brutale hasnt changed much in a decade or so. And it should be noted that the image above is just a rendering from a bloke at the publication, its not an official release from MV.

Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: ArguZ on September 10, 2010, 04:27:05 AM Potato-potata...looks like the 696 , gladius whatsoever...its all the same Fisher price design.
I am very happy I have the old design and I actually like the Multistrada 1200 design too [cheeky] Which will probably become my next Duc... Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: Frosty_spl on September 11, 2010, 12:29:26 PM At the top of the page on Cycle World, it says "What the new Brutale 675 COULD look like".
Don't get your pantys in a wad. It's just a photoshop ;D Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: Speeddog on September 17, 2010, 12:13:01 PM Reportedly actual pics, FWIW:

Those are the sharpest pics of the f3 ive seen so far. If only we could undress it... ;D
Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: Travman on September 17, 2010, 02:36:29 PM So it going to be a naked bike or will it be full faired bike? They will probably do both.
Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: DRKWNG on September 17, 2010, 05:14:09 PM Well, with a name like F3, by MV naming conventions, it would almost have to be a SBK. Now a baby Brutale, that would be pretty cool too.
Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: Speeddog on September 17, 2010, 06:47:52 PM Didn't mean to derail the thread into fairing-land. [cheeky]
That's a cool looking SBK. Not big in the flat black myself...but not buying right now. Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: DRKWNG on September 19, 2010, 04:44:49 PM BOOOOO!!!!! It's gonna be a 600. <where's the thumbs down smiley?>
Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: Travman on October 04, 2010, 05:57:12 PM Here is an interview of Giovanni Castiglioni on the MV Agusta F3, Harley-Davidson and two other new models.
Here is what I gleaned from the interview: 1) The three-cylinder, 675cc MV Agusta F3 should make 140bhp and be available 10 months after EICMA. 2) There will be a cheaper "dark" version of the 4-cylinder Brutale next March 2011. 3) The 3 cylinder 675 Brutale will come out after that. http://hellforleathermagazine.com/2010/10/giovanni-castiglioni-on-the-mv-agusta-f3-harley-davidson-and-two-secret-new-models/#more-10457 (http://hellforleathermagazine.com/2010/10/giovanni-castiglioni-on-the-mv-agusta-f3-harley-davidson-and-two-secret-new-models/#more-10457) Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: DRKWNG on October 04, 2010, 05:58:50 PM Yea, the MV rep confirmed some of that while out at Ducpond on Saturday.
Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: Travman on October 04, 2010, 06:06:09 PM Did you get a chance to ride any of the MV's that were there? Did I mention how impressed/scared I was by the 1090 Brutale with the Cannonball kit. 170 rwhp.
Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: DRKWNG on October 04, 2010, 06:13:11 PM I took the F4 out for a spin. It's really the only reason I went out there, as I have been toying with the idea of buying one some time in the near(ish) future.
Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: muskrat on October 04, 2010, 08:16:16 PM I still think the F4 Senna is the prettiest of the lot. Now, if you give me those looks with the Cedici sound I'd sell everything and buy one.

I get unseemly bulges every time I think of it. 140 hp? Damn. Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: Travman on October 05, 2010, 05:01:08 PM You're forgetting the sub 10k price tag for the F3. Wow, somehow I didn't quite pickup on that price tag. That is impressive. I get unseemly bulges every time I think of it. 140 hp? Damn. Title: Re: Brutalina Post by: sbrguy on October 05, 2010, 07:54:35 PM i think the article says the f3 will be about 11 euro but the butale smaller version will be arond 9k euro taht is where the sub 10 is coming from the f3 will still be at a premium from the r6 and such by a few thousand but not too much.
it seems they are doing what bmw and ducati are doing which is offering their bikes at only a smaller premium of 1-3 k over the japanese counterparts which is easier to swallow than say 8-10 that a normal f4 would be over an r1 or something in years past.
