Title: OEM License plate light bulb
Post by: Speeddog on September 09, 2010, 11:51:55 AM
Just replaced mine with a #836, seems fine.

It says 12V 5W on it, which matches what the OM says.
Luckily, the OM doesn't give any more info.  [roll]

836?

I've always used a 194

I tried a 194, but it seemed a bit dim.
And it didn't say anything on it other than 194.

The 836 did have 12V 5W on it.

Google didn't really illuminate the situation much.

The 836 is a Toshiba, maybe that's their number for the same bulb.  :P

My body-shop neighbors had the bulbs.
Must be a paint thing.  [laugh]

I couldn't find 836 listed anywhere.

Wedge based mini bulbs are really common in cars...every shop has some 194s. ;)

The 194 peanut bulbs also seem to have a very short lifespan.
Maybe the 836 is a long life version of the 194.
Just a thought...
