Title: Rest in Peace Desmo*Maniac
Post by: cyrus buelton on September 11, 2010, 05:58:38 AM
We just found out yesterday that a fellow by the name of Ned, who is from Maine, passed away in a Motorcycle in July. Caros (duccarlos) found out through Facebook about it.

He was a Coastal Ducati Club Member, so none of us ever met him, so I think it took so long to find out about it since he lived so far away.

I think he used to be on the DML, but when the whole thing switched over, he decided to go play in another sandbox.

He was a very nice guy from my conversations with him and from his postings, the guy had some bad luck through his entire motorcycle career. It is unfortunate, but I must post, it appears he was not wearing a lid when this accident occurred.

Here is the obituary:

BIDDEFORD - Nedal "Ned" Dawoudi, 39, of Green Street, died unexpectedly July 27, 2010, in Saco. He was born May 20, 1971, in Austin, Texas, son of Esam Daoudi and Patricia (Terrell) Russell. As a boy, he attended Sterns High School, Millinocket, and attended ITT Technical Institute. He graduated at the top of his class with a 4.0 in computer technology, and was part of National Honors Society. Nedal proudly served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Nimitz between the Persian Gulf wars. Nedal worked on electronics. He was a member of Ducati Motorcycle Club. Nedal enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on computers and watching any of the New England sports teams. Nedal liked to play and watch football, track and baseball. He loved anything that involved water, loved exotic animals, and fell in love with RX-7 cars, owning three in his lifetime. He will be missed by all and never forgotten. The family thanks all of Nedal's friends for the support in this hard time. He was predeceased by his son, Jon-Micheal Dawoudi; and his sister, Amanda Dawoudi. He is survived by his father, Esam Daoudi of Woodland, Texas; his mother, Patricia (Terrell) Russell of Waco, Texas; stepfather, Rick "Bear" Russell of Millinocket; two daughters, Jenna Dawoudi and Nadia Dawoudi of Old Orchard Beach; a brother, Jamal Dawoudi of Riverside, Calif.; his paternal grandmother of Damascus, Syria, his maternal grandmother of Waco, Texas; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and many, many loving friends. Prayers were held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main St., Saco. Burial was after at Millinocket Cemetery.

Rest in peace buddy.

Wow! I remember him posting in the past and he seemed like a nice guy. IIRC he went to the orginial DIMBY but I'm sure Nate would remember better than I.

Rest in Peace

 :o

Ned and I were the same age.  I met up with him on here when we were considering moving up to the Portland area.  He had roots in Austin and I just moved from there.  We spoke several times.

F***!!

Sad but that's a great write up on his (too) short life.

I never had the pleasure. He didn't attend DIMBY.

RIP brother.

Ned was really big into reptiles, specifically snakes. He loved to talk about them. I remember Motogpfan helping him out quite a bit.

He had a beautiful green tree snake if I remember correctly.

It saddens me so much to read posts like this.  RIP, Ned.  Condolences to those who knew and loved him.

Be careful out there DMFers!
