Title: Motorcycle Prints/Posters?
Post by: Stinky Wizzleteats on September 15, 2010, 07:10:58 PM
Looking to spruce up my garage and trying to find an online business that would sell this sort of stuff. Looked at Art.com and they are really expensive!   >:(

Mainly Ducati inspired, vintage racing (Like the Duke pic) or even Ducati signage/posters. Doesn't have to be Ducati, as long as I like it.

Any ideas?

 ???

I've got a garage full of framed Ducati prints and posters but I can't remember where I ordered them. Some are real old but half of them are just a few years old. I googled Ducati posters but I cannot find the site where I got the newer ones. [bang] It had all the classic race posters and the print ads too. They had a ton of Ducati posters. All the sites that showed on google didn't have 20% of the ones from the site I used. I'll keep looking.

If you can find an adequate quality file I can print one-off posters up to 5 feet wide...

I'm doing up my garage in the next few weeks now that it is cleaned out. I have vintage motorcycle and automotive adverts, some of my own photos, and the prerequisite nudie calendars all queued up.

Define "Adequate quality"?

Define "Adequate quality"?

It kind of comes down to you. BARE minimum is 72 dpi@100% scale. At that res you will still see some pixelization. 150 dpi@100% will look about perfect, and 300 dpi@100% will look like it came off a 35mm slide.

From three feet away they will all look perfect.

i like this lady's posters, and she has prints you can get framed you have to email her for others that are not shown on the site

www.facebook.com/elizabethraabphotography (http://)

she has a stockpile of photos that are not yet for sale just ask her about them.

Staples does posters up to a certian size, just email or bring them the file and they'll blow it up. It has (should) have hi res or there will be pixels as the OP mentioned.

I did some vacation pics and they were pretty cheap.

I've got the giant life size version of that poster but I don't have a wall left big enough to put it on!! And the wife for some odd reason won't let me put it on a wall inside the house. What's wrong with her? [laugh]

LOL, some guys at a local shop have it hanging up on the wall in the front of the shop and it quite literally is the size of the wall!!!

I always liked the Ducati People set of ads that Ducati used a few years back.  I'd love to have a set of those in the garage, but they seem to have disappeared ~

found these in an antique store in Cambria

I found some cool reproduction prints for the garage
Isle of Man TT

Nurburgring

Daytona

Sacramento
(http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t180/bobspapa/006-7.jpg?t=1285120200)

there were a ton of others... old drag racing posters, old vw posters, old porsche posters. I even found a bunch of old motorcyclist mags from the 50's. I got one, and when I opened it..... poof.... Ducati ad :) ( so I framed it)

They had tons of them. Lot's of old German BMW ads. I would have got more, but was running out of room as to where to put them in the garage. There were two seperate store in Cambria that had them, so I assume they both got them from the same source. I've looked all over on line, but cant find a place that sells the same reproductions. These are like 11x 14, they had larger ones, buy I wanted more so I went with the small ones. they were only 10 bucks each. They also had some cool band flyers too.

I could print that, it will be pretty grainy though without a higher quality version. Would look great from three feet away, blocky closer up.

Don't know if you're familiar with rasterbation or not (no, it's not dirty  [roll] ) but that might be an option.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about, you plug a photo in and tell it how big you want it and the result is an image that prints on multiple sheets of regular size paper which are then arranged properly to form the large image.

Damn.  That was a hell of a run-on sentence.

Here's an example of some images.
