Hey guys, got my bike to fire up and exhaust working but now it seems that my brake light constantly blikes and it doesnt seem to be lighting up when i hit the brake? Any suggs??
Is this a integrated taillight/turn signals fixture? Or do you have the stock lights on it?
Check to make your connections are correct and connected well.
Does the brake light come on when you pump the rear brake or the hand brake.
I had an issue when my hand brake where the sensor meets the lever - it wasn't sitting properly, so that when I did apply the hand brake it wouldn't light up unless I applied more pressure. Turned out the sensor was sitting to close to where the lever and it meet.
Up the post & wait for Guru to reply (I also got the same issue ... :-\)
My bike is S4R-2003, no matter front or rear brake pushed, they are always constantly on.
In this circuit you are only working with a power source (fuse box), some wire, two switches and a bulb. If the brake light is constantly on either one of the switches is stuck or out of adjustment or the bulb is in backwards.
Disconnect the front switch. If you follow the wires from the switch you will come to two bullet connectors. Disconnect them. If the brake light now goes out the problem is in the front switch. Don't go out and buy one yet. The dowel in the lever that operates the switch could be stuck or missing or the switch may be out of adjustment. The switch is adjusted by loosening the two 1 mm screws and moving the the switch.
If the light remains on the problem is either with the rear switch or the bulb is backwards. Sometimes in a tipover the switch can get tweaked and stick.
