Title: Shorter stock turn signals?
Post by: stopintime on June 08, 2008, 02:42:18 PM
I'm keeping the beer tray (yes, I am), but I thought about shortening the turn signals stem - let's say half of it?
Has anyone done this, or tried to do it?

I busted mine and they don't shorten well, unless you can find a way to shorten the middle and keep both ends, I was looking at the end closest to the light and you might be able to cut it there and use a bolt to connect it back to the bike, you will need something to act as the aleignment pin, all this and you might get 4.5 cm (1.75") per side (on the fronts, haven't checked the back)

Hi Mike - glad you could join me/us!

Inside the rear signals flexible stem there is the female part forged in the plastic (don't know the right word) where the bolts holds it in place. Cutting might be impossible without loosing that part. It probably can't be done, so I will be searching for other signals that aren't as wide as stock, but has similar looks - maybe the DP billet ones.

I've thought about this, and I wonder, has anyone thought about using the stock signals from the 696?
