Iteresting!
By mistake huh. Lots of manufs are doing that lately. It's intentional or else there's a whole lot of stupid out there in the world. Okay maybe both.
Friend of mine has a Tiger... the thing that bugs me to no end about the Triumphs is their British stubbornness against upgrading their dash unit... The buttons to see other information are on the unit itself... not so terrible on the Tripple but on the Tiger you have to reach a good foot infront of the bars to hit the buttons... not a pleasant thought if you're riding down the highway for hours... would it freaking kill them to put a thumb toggle on the bar controls? I can't get past that to even begin commenting on the ugliness of the dash.
A little lighter and a little more power sounds like a good thing, but they shouldn't have messed with the headlights. The dual round lights are a major part of the Speed Trip's identity.

Fixed it for you.
[laugh] ...such a traditionalist!!! [cheeky]
You nailed it. I almost wrote that Triumph shouldn't have messed with the headlights just as Ducati should not have messed with the Monster's round headlight.

;D I think the new headlights look pretty cool. Then again, I like to new Monsters as well. :P
I'll reserve judgement on the new lights until I can see the entire bike. I do like that they now appear to be mounted to the forks. When the headlight is mounted to the frame like on the current Speed Triples it looks wonky since they stick out too far.
I dont know about the buttons, but the styling of the dash unit is nice, I wish Ducati ddnt go completely digital with theirs. I always like to look at a good old-fashioned gauge - guess i'll have to wait til i get an s4rs
From what I have seen, I like it so far. I did not care for the round headlights. Hopefully the Street Triple will get the same headlights.

Agreed 100%
A little more new Speed Triple information.

Ok, I f'n hate the head-lights for sure now just like I still hate the new monster headlights.
More high resolution pics

i never like the dual headlights ever, but i see how they are updating it to a more modern design so that isn't too bad.
i think the monsters stayed with the single headlight but they kept the tank shape, and the new headlight on the new monsters isn't that bad at all, very mv agusta style which i think is an evolution of the design. but again as others said you always have traditionalists that don't want anything changed at all.
each to their own.
looks awesome...kinda TNTish
i really liked the round headlights. they were a key styling feature for me. i'm not as impressed with the new style headlights.
Looks better with the wind screen
I wish they would have mounted the headlights to the forks. From most angles the bike looks dorky because the headlights stick out too far

BLASPHEMY! [thumbsdown]
It is definitely ugly, (the ST not my beautiful bike). With the bikini fairing the headlights fit MUCH BETTER. This should be included with the sale of all ST's.

It's ok we won't laugh. ;D
No..... [bang]
LOL, it does sort of have that waspy look doesn't it!
Yea, certainly does. With the flyscreen as they call it it looks much better though. Too bad this is not included with purchase of the bike.
No seat cowl, no flyscreen, no bellypan. Basically all the parts that make it look acceptable have to be purchased after.
-Wait this sounds like what I did with the monster.... n/m [roll]

You are right. This does look a lot better with the flyscreen.

i'll reserve judgement untill i see it in person. i didnt like the streetfighter too much when i saw the pictures but its was a different story when i saw it in person
headlights are all wrong.
Honestly, I kind of like it when the new generation turns out fugly as all get out. Not only do you end up getting a used bike for a great price, but you can rest easy knowing that it was the right choice. Give it five years or five decades and they'll bring back the classic styling cues.
I saw more pictures on MCN. I may have changed my mind on the head lights. I don't like the tank either. It has a very pronounced hump.
Not a fan, I like the classic look better. I also think the new monster is too much streetfighter'ish (is that word?) for my taste. Is there a way to mount the classic round headlight on the new monster? There has to be a kit out there

...already been done. Search button is your friend. :)
the look is groin on me with the exception of the headlights.
The look is uh, also groin on me too. ;)
I know they had an aesthetic to maintain in updating it, but I think they could have done a better boob job. With the minifairing it looks better, but still a net [thumbsdown].
