Anybody have one?

One of my customers had a black one and gave me a ride in it yesterday on the way to lunch.
It freakin rips!
Recaro seats are like mild race seats and really do a great job of keeping you planted.
Also, holy torque. . . when that snail spools up. .. hang on! It shoved me back into the seat!
It's also got huge brembo brakes. The rotors are like the size of a dinner plate.
This car, IMO. . .serious challenge to Subaru
And the law

Nice cars, but it looks like a Honda Civic that ate a lemon.
Super aggressive intake laden front end on a mundane sedan body.
Yup...Like the WRX a bit better with the new hatchback body style...
the rim design is nice

I'm fairly certain that's the point
Yawn [coffee]
I love the Evo, but I would need to get rid of at least 2 children.
one of the mechanics that used to work here has an EVO VIII MR and he had his detuned to run on E85 and went to a dyno shootout and still laid down 387 at the wheels and he loves to autocross with that car...
It looks like a blast to drive. Kind of fugly.
Looks better in Coco

Don't they need servicing every 10 miles or so?

I was talking to the guy that gets down on his hands and knees and prays to the Pushca gods for the freakin' thing to run. ;D
Making em run is easy. Problem is all the electronic shit that keeps evolving every few years. Just when you get real good at fixen em and nothing can stand in your way, Porsche changes everything including our diag tools and you feel like a clueless new guy again.

The ice cream cones on the dummies was a nice touch.

"getting good at fixin' 'em"
I guess the high end sports cars aren't that different than my old jeep after all
Now that the STI is available with out that heinous hatch back...I would very much consider either...
Of course I got pulled over test driving the regular WRX with the sales man and my dad a few years back...maybe I should stick to the Vdub.

and the switchover in diagnostic equipment sucks too...we've been pushing off the upgrade from our VAS5052's as much as possible...we have the replacements sitting in the box ready to go...but that is a lot of money in computer equipment to collect dust...a bunch of the guys are already acclimating by using their ross-tech VAG emulators on their own laptops...but still....
VAG emulators?
;D
As nice as the EVO is, I still think the best deal is the regular WRX. They are now identical in looks and fairly close in performance (actually just as quick 0-60) as the STi. I just picked up an '11 WRX last monday...the Cobb accessport is in the mail [evil]. Sure, you dont get the Brembos, SI-drive, and that adjustable center diff, but they are still a blast to drive. Plus, they sound like the Ducati of the cages. I was thinking of getting "4WHLDUC" as a personal plate...is that blasphemous?

Panameras and new Cayennes require the new laptop. Its built on a Toughbook and has a bad habit of locking up in the middle downloads and such. It will turn a car into a paperweight quicker that you can say "oh shit". Then trying to figure out which control unit or how many are fried is always fun. Good times.

I loved that pic of you with your head in the engine compartment of the 911 ( I think )...
and the lid half closed. ;D
You guys should try being in my shoes figuring out the E320 without even technical documents and only a scantool. It was no fun trying to figure out the aircon/heater problem by searching around on the internet for clues as to how the thing works.

no...not really...ducatista Emily had/has "DUCSUB" on her 04 WRX STi...personally...I think it;d be blasphemous to have WTRDVW as your plate...sine there seems to be a trend of people converting old aircooled VW's into VW bodied Subaru's...

Thanks buddy.
I'm still pissed at Subaru for the new Forester. The XT was just about the perfect car for a guy with a couple big dogs.
