Hi all,
Just wondering which helmet has the smallest shell? I am after a full face helmet, I currently have a Shoei and find it to be quite bulky. My head is XL so the smaller the shell the better!
Thanks!
That's not really a question that can be answered. Different manufactures have different shell shapes.. so you get a bit of apples to oranges there. Also, there's always going to be a minimum amount of padding in a good helmet that will contribute to the volume.
The RF-1100 line has 5 shell sizes now.. so that could work.
Question though - you *really* sure you're an XL? XL's are pretty damn big. Have you been measured for fit?
I'm not a small guy, and I only really fit a medium in a Shoei Currently I have a large, but I made a rookie mistake and went up a size, not accounting for the compression of the liner padding over time

yuu, have you tried wearing a silk Helmet liner ?
Might fill up the space a bit so that the large will fit a little better .
I was fitted with a Medium 6 years ago when I bought a Helmet from a Dealer. My hair was fairly short then since I was still working.
Now that I've been retired for 5 years, my hair is quite long and I wear a silk Helmet liner and I buy Large Helmets which fit fine.

Marushin makes a series of smaller shell helmets that meet the EC 22.05 standards
