Title: Rossi SixtySix Post by: Monster Dave on October 05, 2010, 08:52:02 AM Check out this beast:
(http://www.uncrate.com/men/images/2010/06/rossi-sixtysix-xl.jpg) For $130,000 you get the heart of a new C6 Corvette wrapped in a all the sexy goodness of a split window Sting Ray. Though the price is a bit steep, it's got some sweet styling cues. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: zooom on October 05, 2010, 08:54:32 AM THAT is just drop dead SEXY!

The back is perfect though

No me gusta! Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: sbrguy on October 05, 2010, 09:25:32 AM the back and 3/4 view is great the front 3/4 view is sorta ok.. but its definitely a good take off of the original in a way,
Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: Monstermash on October 05, 2010, 09:32:16 AM SEXY!!!
Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: il d00d on October 05, 2010, 09:38:51 AM The caboose is nice, the front only works from certain angles. If they used flip-up headlights -which might have been another nice retro touch- it probably would have cleaned up the front bumper/grille area a bit.
Their heart is in the right place, their model years of inspiration are my favorite Vettes. Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: The Bearded Duc on October 05, 2010, 09:44:01 AM Camaro/Vette combo. No me gusta! I agree. What's going on these days? Hollywood is doing nothing but remakes and now the car companies too. Why doesn't anyone try anything new? Oh, and here's an idea. If you are gonna do a revamp why not try to make it as close to the original as possible. There are a lot of people who would have loved to own a '63 Stingray and probably would still love to. I'm sure a lot of people are buying the "remake" cars due to some form of nostalgia rather than luxury. Idk, from the front it looks a bit ricey, almost like a 240sx. The back is perfect though Followed quickly by this. If they used flip-up headlights -which might have been another nice retro touch- it probably would have cleaned up the front bumper/grille area a bit. And then immediately by this... My DMF brethren are in perfect sync with my thought process today. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: cokey on October 05, 2010, 12:20:46 PM Blah id rather have this:

Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: Rameses on October 05, 2010, 12:40:41 PM only corvette I would ever own.. You wouldn't rather have a big block? Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: Monster Dave on October 05, 2010, 12:49:05 PM the '62 has always been my favorite model year.
(http://100megsfree4.com/corvette/1950/1959/59red3.jpg) Followed closely by the bad-to-the-bone '63 split window. Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: fastwin on October 05, 2010, 12:50:43 PM I love the '63-'67 Vettes!! As cool as the '63 split window is I would love to have a '66-'67 427 Turbo-Jet with factory lake pipes!! [thumbsup] Oh... and make it Trophy Blue with black interior. Thank you very much. ;D

Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: Monster Dave on October 05, 2010, 01:59:32 PM If you can throw a small block in Miata then you can fit one in anything. Might want to up that to a V12 (http://cache.gawker.com/assets/stills/V12_MiataMX5.flv.jpg) Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: Ratfink749 on October 05, 2010, 02:48:17 PM Nope.. Don't like it one bit. Reminds me of the kit that came out for the C5's a while back that made it look similar to a 53 I believe..

Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: CairnsDuc on October 05, 2010, 07:19:48 PM Hell. even the Lady standing next to it doesn't seem overly impressed
[cheeky] Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: Duck-Stew on October 05, 2010, 09:10:48 PM Nicely done. They tried to modernize the '63-'67 Vettes and did a good job.
Not perfect, but to make something DOT legal these days, well...it just ain't 1967 anymore. I like it. If I were stupid rich, I'd probably test-drive one. Lastly, a place to put my thoughts on the Corvette: It died in 1968 for me as far as body styling goes. Plain and simple. I'll take ANY Corvette made before 1968. The Sting-Ray Vette's of 1968 and onward just did it in for me. But I'm not you, and you may like them, and that's fine. I have one for crying out loud!!! Where's the respect in this place! I tell ya! Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: Veloce-Fino on October 06, 2010, 04:29:14 AM Nicely done. Idk, I think you need to get in a newer corvette. I test drove a 2009 Z06 - AMAZING machine. Hey whats wrong with 240s'? I have one for crying out loud!!! Where's the respect in this place! I tell ya! haha NOTHING! I just wouldn't want a vette that looked like one. Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: akmnstr on October 06, 2010, 04:31:02 AM I thought by now we'd have a mid engine vette.
Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: lethe on October 06, 2010, 04:32:22 AM I thought by now we'd have a mid engine vette. I read they were going to but the whole bailout thing killed the projectTitle: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: Monster Dave on October 06, 2010, 07:31:09 AM I thought by now we'd have a mid engine vette. They tried twice that I'm aware of and the projects never came to fruition. Title: Re: Rossi SixtySix Post by: Latinbalar on October 07, 2010, 07:24:37 AM I think Corvette likes the transmission shaft thing that they got going on. They say it gives the car a better weight balance.
