Title: Does a S4R shock on a S2R modifcation DE-Value your bike??
Post by: Plumbers Crack on October 05, 2010, 03:20:10 PM
I sold a s4r shock on ebay and stated that it will take minor modification to install the shock on your S2R.

I told everyone to ask questions before buying..

So today this guy takes me to ebay court stating he wants his money back because this modification will de-value his bike.

I told him that there is no way that it would de-value his bike.

So here I am asking everyone to chime in as Im going to show him this and give him the proof that it wont..

Thanks guys and Ladies..

Yeah, I don't really see it.

Maybe it'll devalue his bike if he makes a complete hash of the modifications of installation... [roll]

I've heard for a long while, but as of late believe that ebay sucks balls from a seller's point of view.

The buyer is king in the world of ebay.

I would LOVE to have an S4R rear shock on my S2R. Nothing would settle the bike down much like it, short of an ohlins or penske. Not really that hard of mod, just some coil relocation right? Easy stuff.

Sounds like a case of buyer's remorse to me. Them's the brakes with auctions friend. Cough up the cash and change the shock back yourself if you're really that concerned.

Buyer's full of crap & is trying to screw you.  Unless the modification to make it fit involves major reconstruction of the frame / engine / etc... There's just no way.  +1 to the eBay sucks for sellers comment above... [roll]

You will only lose if you don't reply.

With each reply, you need to reiterate that you gave the buyer notice it requires modification of the bike.  If you didn't guarantee it will INCREASE the value, then that will be it.

Just keep replying and keep repeating it.

Who cares what it will or will not do to his bike.  You said it will only fit his bike if they modify it. He knew what he was into.  You clearly said what you were selling and what condition it is in.  You did nothing wrong.  I hate the new "buyers have the power" way ebay has gone.  I try all I can not to sell anything more on there.
I could go on and on about ebay but I will hush.
