Title: Rear brake rotor choices
Post by: speedknot on October 06, 2010, 06:49:19 PM
I'm going to be looking for a new rear rotor soon for my M750.  I dont like to mess around with crap aftermarket brake parts so I'm looking for a good replacement.  Any recommendations?  Also, i've heard that its important to match your pads to your rotor.  Is that true?

You wouldn't want to use a metallic pad with a cast iron rotor, but most pads are compatible with stainless rotors.

BrakeTech:

I had one of the older BrakeTech full floating iron rotors.
Wasn't like the ones above, there was no carrier, it just floated directly on the spacers under the bolts.
Loved it.

I've got an Alth now.
Love that too.

I've used both Ferodo Sintergrip and Platinum with the iron rotor.

The Alth is stainless, IIRC I've got the Sintergrips in there now.

Galfer/Braking make rotors that fit the rear. Though not floating like the fancy stuff above

I had seen these last night.  I'll probably go with them.  Thanks for the info.
