Title: Look out for flying objects
Post by: IZ on October 07, 2010, 06:13:18 PM
I was taking a short ride over to the local UPS store earlier today.  As I was driving cautiously through the parking lot.  I noticed a man handing a an object to his 2-3 y/o daughter to my 1 o'clock.  I looked to my left and back to my right.  As I'm looking back to the right, I see a UFO flying towards my head.  WTF..d*mn kid tried to take me out by whipping a cell phone at my head!!  The dad looked dumbfounded and didn't want to look in my direction.  I laughed it off but if I hadn't ducked, that could've caused some damage!!

Oh hell no.  a can of WOOPASS would be in order for that parent.

I took my Springer to a frisbee park one time and while mine was on the leash he let his go and I heard "get'im" as the dog ran over and jumped my Springer.  Well, I kicked the ever living shit out his dog into the creek and he came running over.  He too ended up in the creek while my girlfriend had to pry me off.......God that felt good.  That's all.

This was one of those dad-hands-foul ball-to-daughter-and-she-throws-it-back-on-field moments.  It was rather amusing.  Just have to keep in mind that ANYTHING can happen on the road!!   :)

I was riding behind a family van near dusk. All of the sudden an object came out of the window and hit me right in the face, thank god it was a black balloon! Scared the living crap out of me! I thought I was a gonner!

I *think* I heard a bullet hitting a street sign I was riding by the other day - kind of a ricochet sound.  I've heard similar sounds in the Army.  Another good reason to wear a helmet and gear I guess.

Had to dodge a flying kiddie pool that came at me last year.  I swerved, and it only clipped my ankle and sidecase.  Worst thing was after the fact, I nearly fell off my bike because I was laughing so hard about the ludicrous-ness of nearly getting taken out by a plastic pool!

That is funny!

I was almost decapitated by a piece of cardboard that was taken up in the air about 45' by a dust devil.  It came down just in front front of me and nearly take my head off.
