Title: Double check on fork tube size for clip-ons for '05 m620
Post by: SacDuc on October 11, 2010, 01:44:08 PM

I'm at work and after thinking about my ride yesterday and the commute this morning I've decided that I'm getting clip-ons again.

I have an '05 m620 with stock forks. I need 50mm clip-ons right?

Thanks.

Yes.

-50mm is diameter at top of fork tube

-53mm is diameter of SBK forks (if you ever do that upgrade)

Thank you.

They have been ordered.

$150 including shipping. Decent deal for new parts.

Cheers

Cool. Here's the general rule o' thumb for Ducati's:

Monster - 50mm top, 54mm bottom

SBK Showa - 53mm top, 53mm bottom

SBK Ohlins - 53mm top, 56mm bottom

hope you got woodcrafts.  by far the easiest to mount under or ontop of tripple [bacon]

Or..... Drop the triple's down 1.5 inch and then mount on top.  Did this to mine and the front holds firm in the turns.

My front is already dropped about 1.25". I got the Vortex clip-ons. I had their old model on my m750 and liked them. Their new model has substantially slimmer mounts so mounting will be a piece of cake.

Lowering monsters like this really does make them tip into corners pretty quickly.

I've got a picture of your old clip-ons tipping quickly into a corner somewhere...  [evil]
