Title: Fuel additive to prevent tank warping
Post by: hackers2r on October 12, 2010, 12:45:20 PM
After having my tank replaced under warranty, my dealer strongly recommended adding Star-Tron to my tank every fillup.  Anyone know of this stuff preventing tank warping?

i have heard that the boat industry has been using it for a while to combat the problems related with E-10. i actually have some that i keep meaning to drop in the tank at my next fill up.

I use it now, but I also just bought the Caswell coating. I suggest reading at least the last couple of pages of the expansion sticky on the General board.

I use it so my engines, all of them, will run after sitting for any length of time.

I can't say if it prevents a nylon tank from expanding.

This must be similar to the marine formula Stabil (green .vs Red)?

Since the Republic of VT has gone almost completely "non-ethanol free" I add to my fuel supply.

I noticed slight tank expansion using E10 last year, back to normal with non-ethanol this year, will see
how the additive does combating moisture absorbtion, now that everything here is E10.
