Title: Benelli Mirrors on a Monster Post by: Travman on October 14, 2010, 05:44:02 PM There was a pair of these Benelli mirrors sitting on the counter of my local shop. I looked them up and the only model that seemed to have these mirrors was their "Cafe Racer".
(http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/photogallerys/Benelli-TNT-Cafe-Racer.-2.jpg) Now on my bike. So, what do you think? Do they work on this bike? I like the look and the tradition especially from the rear angle.

Not sure which I'd go with. Title: Re: Benelli Mirrors on a Monster Post by: Rameses on October 14, 2010, 11:33:36 PM Can we get a pic of them from the front on the Monster? They look good from what you've posted so far though. [thumbsup] Title: Re: Benelli Mirrors on a Monster Post by: Howie on October 15, 2010, 03:03:37 AM How do they compare with the Napoleons when it comes to seeing what is behind you?
Title: Re: Benelli Mirrors on a Monster Post by: pitbull on October 15, 2010, 04:02:11 AM I like both, but think the benelli mirror's oval edges match the flow of the monster better and are a little less intrusive size wise.
either look sharp though. Title: Re: Benelli Mirrors on a Monster Post by: Travman on October 15, 2010, 04:12:43 AM I'll try to get a picture from the front.
The Napoleons offer a better view of what is behind me simply because the mirror size is bigger. The Napoleons also have the advantage of being able to flip over to make more room when parking in the garage. The Benelli mirrors can not be flipped over towards the bike. Title: Re: Benelli Mirrors on a Monster Post by: Mojo S2R on October 15, 2010, 04:17:00 AM Hadn't seen those before. Nice find. I think the Benellis look best. How much did those run you?
I had the Napoleans also but ended up going with the Motrax Mini Reversables myself. Although the Benellis can't be flipped, can they be mounted on the inside? Don't how that would look though. Title: Re: Benelli Mirrors on a Monster Post by: ducatiz on October 15, 2010, 05:17:56 AM I liked the Napoleons for their flippable setup but they really look like truck mirrors.
(http://www.roadtransport.com/blogs/big-lorry-blog/Volvo%20mirror.jpg) those benelli mirrors are nice, a bit wide for my taste, but i could get used to that. i bet they have a great rear view. I'm pretty sure I paid $75 for the pair. I had the Napoleans also but ended up going with the Motrax Mini Reversables myself. How much did they cost? I'm pretty sure these Benellis can't be reversed. There is no way to take the mirror apart. Even if I could I'm pretty sure it would take away from the functionality and reduce the view of what's behind me and increase the view of my shoulders. Title: Re: Benelli Mirrors on a Monster Post by: sbrguy on October 15, 2010, 12:48:07 PM i think the benelli mirror look horrible on your bike, you need to sell them to me for $20 and i'll take them off your hands and put them where they will look good on my monster. you can thank me later. ;D

That's a bargain for a quality set of good looking mirrors. Yep, the Motrax are basically exact copies of the Rizomas but without any stamps/labels and a lot cheaper than the Rizomas. I think I paid around $67 for the set - when the exchange rate was better as Motrax is UK based. There is also an ebay seller that sells a set of M-Label mirrors that look the same at a reasonable price. They look great on your Monster, suits your bike better than their intended home IMO [thumbsup] Title: Re: Benelli Mirrors on a Monster Post by: orangelion03 on October 25, 2010, 07:21:45 AM Nice looking mirrors!

Title: Re: Benelli Mirrors on a Monster Post by: Travman on October 27, 2010, 05:17:29 PM Man those make the bike look W-I-D-E!!! You nailed it. That is the only problem I have with these mirrors. From most angles it isn't noticable, but from some angles these are too wide. Sorryto thread jack but what model are those tank stickers from? Not sure. Previous owner had the tank painted. I'm pretty sure he said he sent it to Duc Painter (Nate of Frosty Finishes) to have it done. |
