Knox is working up a newer concept of armour. It's still the hard shell over energy absorbing material you know and love - but this Kenesis range allows the armor to deflect some of the blow, not just simply absorb it.
The, or parts of the hard shell at attached via a system that allows them to move in the event of an impact and return to place after. This will allow some of the energy of the impact to dissipate before the padding ever has to absorb it. Pretty keen.
It's not out to the public yet, but HFL expects it out 'soon'
