Title: Replacing levers on M1100 - need help
Post by: mickb on October 17, 2010, 04:31:39 AM
Hi,
I feel really dumb asking, but Ican't see how to remove the plunger / barrel from the existing brake lever assembly. Once its off the bike I can't get enough clearance to slide the plunger barrel out....any clues  [bang]

http://www.ducatisuite.com/leverchange.html (http://www.ducatisuite.com/leverchange.html) <- instructions.

It should be almost identical on your bike, if not identical.

I did look at that thread, but the barrel / plunger assembly is slightly different to the M1100. The problem was when taking the old levers off, the barrel & plunger which fits into the master cylinder was v.difficult to remove from the old levers.

I was able to prise it off in the end, but its wasn't easy!

mate; I found the same thing!.. not as easy as my old Monster. I believe when I received my Pazzo levers there was a piece of metal in the box that that allowed it to unlock from the barrel.
