has any one drilled a 3mm hole in the airslide on a mikuni CV on a ducati its a common modification on HD CV carbs the standard hole is 1.5mm 2mm , but when opened ip anotther 1mm it gives a faster vacuum slide and throttle respone improves no end .

i'd sneak up on it size wise. i spoke to another mechanic who had done it and wouldn't do it again from memory, but i had that conversation more than 10 years ago. a single carb on a big twin might be a bit different to the ducati carbs, esp on the smaller motors. and harleys are often fairly easy targets due to the very conservative way they come out of the factory.
get the slides lifting too fast and you'll be back to the limitations of no accelerator pump.
Ive done it on my KLR but I had too much trouble with it. I swapped in my spare slide with a higher quality adjustable needle and haven't looked back.
