Title: What cha doin this Thursday? Post by: wantingaduc on June 09, 2008, 01:30:58 PM Ok folks, after checking the weather forecast for the week, I see a big yellow sun and a high in the 80’s for Thursday.
Deep fried dogs and a frosty cold beverage on a warm Thursday night with 20-30 of your closest Ducatisti buds sound like a good idea? If it does, then I’m putting a call out early to everyone in DESMO and the DMF for a joint meeting at Hiram’s in Fort Lee this Thursday, starting at 7pm. In addition to the eats, it’s a great chance to meet the people behind the screen names, exchange cell numbers, and possibly find new people to ride with. Plus the chance to admire other people’s rides is always a good excuse to make the run. Hell we might even get to meet the “usual suspects” when they’re not logging a 500 mile day at triple digit speeds. (no really , I kid, I kid ) No excuses about it being too hot, or the bike being in pieces. Yes I know the ride over from NYC can suck, but gourmet dogs and great roads within 15 minutes from Hiram’s should make it worth your while if you decide to make a night of it. There’s even a Starbucks and a gelato joint no more then 15 minutes away if you’d like to do the perfect Ducati “triple crown poser event. “ :) Hope you can all find the time to make it out this Thursday, Ill see you there. jimi Title: Re: What cha doin this Thursday? Title: Re: What cha doin this Thursday? Post by: tommys67 on June 09, 2008, 02:31:20 PM I'll try again this Thursday.
At least with being by myself last week, I was able to sort out how to get to the Lincoln from there [thumbsup] Title: Re: What cha doin this Thursday? Im coming from NY so I'll maybe see you there and ride with you on the way back to LI. Post by: goldenchild on June 10, 2008, 05:43:48 AM Excuses ,u seem to have ridden about 250miles without one whats another 100 [leo] No excuses, it's not like the local NYS dmv woulda been open for me to replace my lost license, I had no choice but to ride home. Besides, 250 miles out in the sticks, there are maybe a handful of po po's at the most. In the city, an island 13 x 3 miles, there are about million po po's. Not only that, every single po po in the metro area is looking to pull over bikes so it's a chance I'm not willing to take. Fried hot dogs or not. Title: Re: What cha doin this Thursday? Post by: CountGreffi on June 10, 2008, 08:49:51 AM I wish I could go, I'd like to meet up with some cool heads from here ( not have to pick from the lot over at Hooters on Route 22). Is Hiram's worth the trip? Where the hell is Fort Lee anyway, I will assume North Jersey by the GWB. If I don't have any ships (make the beast with two backsing Maersk) I will go. Anyone wanna head up with me from around my area? As in if anyone is from Morristown, Scotch Plains, or whatever other town are near mine (Westfield).

I`ll see if my frined wants to try again w/ his 748, hopefuly it doesn`t crap out while splitting lanes in the middle of the FDR again.

Where the hell is Fort Lee anyway, I will assume North Jersey by the GWB. cg Hiram's is about a mile and a half from the GWB. http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&q=hiram%27s&near=Fort+Lee,+NJ&fb=1&cid=7937662601853238083&li=lmd&z=14&t=m Follow that map and get directions from your location. From Ft. Lee to Scotch Plains it may be easier to get home from the Lincoln, but it'd be almost impossible to go to Ft. Lee that way without knowing the area from that direction. Get there via GWB. [thumbsup] Is it worth it? It's a cheap hot dog joint right on a major road, we usually eat outside on picnic tables. It's just a very, very casual get together that we decided to hit a bunch of times last year and it became a regular thing last summer. It's a little bit of a dive - but in a good way. 8). Frankly, it's the way most of us have met each other in the past 18 months. Speaking of, anyone seen Christian [xtian8 from TOB] or Nerual lately? Title: Re: What cha doin this Thursday? Post by: patricks2r on June 10, 2008, 02:13:11 PM I'll try to make it.. got to see what it's all about.
Unfortunately I have to ride to work and pay $30 to park. Anyone know of anything cheaper near 50th & 8th [hell's kitchen]? I usually get out around 7PM. Those dogs better rock my world! Title: Re: What cha doin this Thursday? Post by: FLSTFI_E46 on June 10, 2008, 02:53:20 PM Anyone know of anything cheaper near 50th & 8th [hell's kitchen]? I currently don't know if any of garages listed in the link below is cheaper but maybe it's worth a try calling some of them and get some prices. It's probably a good idea to mention motorcycle parking specifically. http://www.hellskitchen.bz/automobile/parking.shtml Title: Re: What cha doin this Thursday? I have never been to Hirams but I know the area very well. I think I may go depending on what happens at work that day. Also have the exact same bike as you. I guess we should get a better idea first of when others plan on showing up then I'll have a better idea. Finally I'll get the chance to meet some nymmc ers perhaps even the elusive usual suspects. Pretty pumped. Making the exact same trip on friday to go into hoboken again, w00t 2x the north jersey slab time [puke] Title: Re: What cha doin this Thursday? Title: Re: What cha doin this Thursday? Post by: wantingaduc on June 13, 2008, 02:14:39 PM I just wanted to post up a big thanks to everyone who made it over last night.
It’s nice to see Hiram’s Thursdays coming back to life. It was great to finally meet GC, Rico, Beattie, Dizz, the rest of the “usual suspect crew” and everyone else. There was an outstanding selection on Monsters there, and a few nice other rides including both superbikes and non Ducs. Ari your S4RS is absolutely stunning. A special thanks to Maire at Cross Country for bringing the 848. Hope the next time we can get a big turn out from the folks at DESMO too. But like Howie mentioned those guys were just coming off a track day at NHIS so they have an excuse. Tommy if you got any good pics from last night post ‘em up for us. Hope everyone had a good time and a safe ride home. See you all again in a few weeks. jimi Title: Re: What cha doin this Thursday? My apologies if you don't like your picture - but I specialize in candids... [beer] Here we go - insert your own captions. I will do my best to name everyone, my apologies if I forget your name - I suck at that [bang] Let's see - we have Dizzle in full gear, Howie with his back to the camera, GLantern not to happy to see the camera, and dude in black t-shirt - I shook your hand but I forget your name [bang] (http://www.mendhams.com/cars/061208_1.jpg) OK Jimi, you got the big crowd you wanted, could you please smile? ;D (http://www.mendhams.com/cars/061208_2.jpg) Mjlandy and SR_Duc with some of Mark's club members.
