Title: how early is too early
Post by: Porsche Monkey on October 24, 2010, 08:05:55 AM
To crack a beer on the weekend? I ask because sometimes I crack one with breakfast or if I'm hunting and up real early, maybe then.  Then theres times where I may get up at two or three in the morning to start a brisket and crack a beer.  So in the expert opinion of the DMF what time is too early? I always regarded it to have a 24x7 sort of legitimacy

nothing was more bracing than a fresh tumbler of Stoli

poured right out of the bottle in the freezer to start the day right

but then my liver was near-shot by the time I was 35

so I had to cease and desist.

Make no apologies, care not about the sideways glances...

it is your life live it as you wish!!! [thumbsup]

On a weekend, I'll commonly have one beer at any time during the day as if it were a soft drink. That is, have one and it's hours before another.

Of course, if the beer is exceptionally good it's been known to affect the course of the day.  ;)

Well, it's always noon somewhere.

Remember kids, the Pilgrims picked Plymouth Rock because they had run out of beer. They drank beer morning noon and night, so running out was an emergency for them.

And as a kid in France I remember the old-timers eating their equivalent of the Denny's Senior special breakfast: Coffee, Cigarette and a glass of red wine.

My take: As long as you don't pour your beer into your cornflakes...  [puke]

Well I woke up Sunday morning,
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt
And the beer I had for breakfast,
Wasn't bad, so I had one more, for dessert

There's nothing wrong with beer.  The whole world drinks it.  The fact that you're asking is a bit bothersome.

I blame those damn prohibitionists!  They make the beast with two backsed up many generations following that terrible period in American history.  Think of all the those local breweries that no longer exist because of them!  In the rest of the world beer and wine are a staple of most diets.  make the beast with two backs you and your moral superiority.  make the beast with two backs you and your need to tell me how to live my life.  Mind your own damn business.

this post brought to you by too long of a Sunday morning and a couple of beers.

It wasn't beer, but my personal record was a double Jack and ginger at 7:30 in the morning.

I was on a plane to Vegas though.

Some friends of mine throw a 3-day lake party every summer.

One year I ended up missing the first night, so I got up really early the next day, drove in, and woke up my buddy Alex by cracking a cold beer in his sleeping face at 8:00 am on the dot.

His wife, who happened to be sleeping next to him, was not pleased. Come to think of it, having been up drinking until 3 or so that morning, neither was he.

Ungrateful bastard.  [drink]

No beer before lunch...screwdriver, bloody mary, a mimosa, maybe even a shot of something.  Too many bubbles in the AM.  For me that is.  You like beer for breakfast, go for it, or even better, maybe an imperial stout [drink]

Don't get me wrong.  If he feels like waking up, downing a six pack and get behind the wheel to go to work then he's an asshole.  He's become our problem and we will need to deal with him.  But he's in the comfort of his own home.  He has the right to enjoy everything he's worked so hard for even if it's just a beer.

Wasn't talking about a six pack or driving for that matter.  In fact I had a couple beers, ate breakfast, and vegged out on the couch all day. Its been a long time since ive done that. It was nice.
