Something about it goes against everything my parents ever taught me seems to come to mind.
I wonder if the Genius who birthed this brainchild is on some sort of State or National Registry
The two largest churches AND the town here sponsor and support a "Trunk" or treat here in Waynesville ~
JM
Yeah a few of the churches here in Moscow Idaho do a trunk or treat too.
Personally I think they are so lame, but to each their own. I'm looking forward to dressing up with the kids
and having fun.
It wouldn't work everywhere.
Neither does letting the little hooligans run wild like we did as kids.
Plenty of people still do door-to-door, especially with the neighborhoods they live within. Locally, the trunk or treat tends to attract folks with really young children, like under 5 or so. Most everyone else goes knocking.

I'm just shocked that in this day of political correctness that an organiztion still even calls it Halloween. Good for them! [thumbsup] [clap] Fall festival my ass or the many other dumb/non scary sounding names for it now... it's Halloween dammit!
i thnk its funny, basically you are saying "come to the back alleyway behind the building to get candy from strangers out of the trunks of their cars"
damn, that has got to be confusing to kids with the whole, don't talk to strangers or get candy from them or go near the trunk of the car lest they be thrown in. [cheeky]

That's what I was getting at. Sounds kinda... inconsistent.

The whole anti-halloween movement is more the crew that finds Satan everywhere fast and hard at work in everything that doesn't emanate from a pulpit or a church pew
children dressed up as devils or witches will be damned for all eternity...you have now been advised!
Yea I went to one of these before. :'(

I spent my 1st 10 years of my life in a small College town and Halloween was a wonderful Holiday.
A time when I could eat as much candy as I wanted was much anticipated.
Never knowing what I would get when the door opened was so exciting to a 7 year old.
Never liked Apples or pennies.
My favorite was Popcorn Balls.

Those were the days. Cant believe my parents let me go trick or treating with a bb gun as part of my costume. Local PD didn't find it amusing. [evil]

We must have been faster when we were kids. [laugh]
