Title: Givi racks for saddle bags on S2R bikes
Post by: turnera on June 09, 2008, 04:02:29 PM
Recently, I purchased a pair of Givi racks to attach saddle bags to my S2R1000. I've not seen anyone speak of these before. They work great, and can give your S2R1000 a great deal more versatility. I can now run errands on mine, or even tour with it.

You can simply go to the Givi website (GiviUSA.com), type in our bike brand and model, and the site will give you the products specifically designed for your bike.

The racks that I purchased attach to the bottom of the passenger pegs at the front, and to the frame rails at the very back of the bike. If you have modified your frame rails to shorten the tail, then the racks probably won't work. The racks take maybe 15 minutes to mount.

The racks hold your textile bags away from the bike and the shotgun-style, high mount, right-side mufflers. They also provide easy mounting points for your bags. I happen to use Cortech Sport bags. The two top straps that hold the bags to the bike can be placed under the seat. This allows you to "lock" the bags to the bike with your saddle lock. Very slick! I even continue to use my passenger pillion cowl for a very custom look.

My bags ended up being extremely stable. I do not get any weight shift whatsoever.
