I wish they would make a 250cc version...I would probably consider it then. I think 15bhp is just not enough for the street...
Derbi
It sure as hell looks alot better than riding a moped. I could seriously see myself rideing that around town. Down to the local ice-cream parlor. Yeah it may not be sutible for speeds over 40mph, but for my little town it would be awesome. Unfortunately at 6' and 240lbs, i'd probably crush the frame.
LOVE IT! Love all these REAL entry-level, gas-sippers coming to the US! Yes, a 250 would be great, considering Honda is challenging the Ninja with CBR250R.

is it just a reskin of the rs125 that sported the Spains No.1 bodywork, or a revised chasis?
Either way, not street legal off the bat in the US most likely, although there are ways around it.
at 260lbs wet, it's probably a blast at the track
No, this is a four stroke

I have a "rated" 12hp 150cc Genuine Blur (look it up pretty fun for a scooter) and i am 5'11 230lbs and i can get it to an indicated 65mph without much trouble and if i realllly wring it out it will get to 70mph eventually lol. One time, with a slight wind behind me, i was flying down a 50mph 4 lane road @ 80mph flying by cars and had some of the most fun in my life EVER.
They eve have a newer version of my scoot with like 20hp that is 220cc that'll do 80mph. I bet this thing can do 60-70mph with no issues.
Jim--- I hope you did not get the wrong impression about what I said about mopeds. Fact is, that as soon as I get a little extra cash, I want to pick up a couple for me and the misses. They do look like a lot of fun. My only problem is so many different makers. Must do research for reliability.
I wonder how much that little toy will cost. Any guesses?
the derbi version sells for 4k euros, so probably $4-4.5k
the old rs125 sold for 5.5k i wouldnt imagine it'll change
i'm 5'11 160 and have had vespa 150's up to 73 indicated....but i was in full tuck and looked ridiculous but was having a blast
