Anyone have any reco's?
Any diff between high and low mounts besides looks?
High mounts allow you to use different rearsets because low mount brackets attach to the stock rearsets.
For the engine, very little to no difference.
Generally:
Highmounts will give you more lean clearance. Stock cans on DSS monsters are known to touch down pretty early.
Higmounts may make having a passenger more difficult due to routing and/or heat. This is a May and case by case.
Most Highmounts allow of the use of monoposto rearsests as most are supported by hangers attached to the frame, as opposed to attached to the rearsets.
Depending on the highmouts you may need adapters or spacers to fit the S-pipes btween the swing arm and rearsets. They are usually supplied by the manufacturer - but if you're buying 2nd hand they tend to go missing.
In all honesty, even with the low mounts, (if you're in the correct body position) you'll scrape your foot pegs before you scrape your exhaust.
Lots of people go right to high mount pipes for reasons like that. I just couldn't bring myself to do that.
As for looks, I think the low mount pipes look better (especially on the Monsters with the dual sided swing arm). They give the bikes that old school look that's timeless. [thumbsup]
Would setback plates work?
