Title: DP tail bag for 696 (and other options) Post by: asherrick on November 04, 2010, 03:57:45 PM I'm looking for some feedback on the DP tail bag for the 696. I didn't find much in my searches, so I'm starting a thread.
Thanks! Title: Re: DP tail bag for 696 (and other options) Post by: zooom on November 04, 2010, 05:55:46 PM Ventura rack system!

Title: Re: DP tail bag for 696 (and other options) Post by: asherrick on November 05, 2010, 04:31:16 AM Ventura rack system! Interesting. It's not obvious from their site, but how easily/quickly can you remove the rack? Title: Re: DP tail bag for 696 (and other options) Post by: asherrick on November 05, 2010, 04:36:58 AM Hepco and Becker has a system as well This looks easy enough to attach for trips (and then remove). Below is a PDF that shows detailed install instructions. http://www.hepco-becker.de/anbauanleitungen/650718.0101.pdf (http://www.hepco-becker.de/anbauanleitungen/650718.0101.pdf) Title: Re: DP tail bag for 696 (and other options) Post by: asherrick on November 05, 2010, 04:40:03 AM So, it looks like these rack options would be good for longer trips. The DP tail bag, on the other hand, looks like a better option for short trips, maybe.

It's not obvious from their site, but how easily/quickly can you remove the rack? the whole rack system or just the back hoop for switching out between the grab rail, sport rack, and big bag rack? for the former...no clue, as it would depend on how the install goes...as for the latter....just takes a couple minutes...I had the system on my old 01 M900ie...and my GF has the same system on her 05 M620ie....she runs with the big hoop on pretty much all the time and carries her work stuff and laptop and all that in the Spada45 bag all the time...I would run the sport rack a vast majority of the time with their lil pack or my Cortech Sport Tailbag on it, but used the big hoop for putting 2 Spada45's on it for when I rode to Montreal and a few other longer trips...I have seen some that just run the grab rail hoop on it till they need to switch out...and switching out is a matter of a couple minutes and no big deal... Title: Re: DP tail bag for 696 (and other options) Post by: Venom51 on November 05, 2010, 08:19:06 AM imho, there are much better/affordable options for a bag than the Ducati bag. Yes, it's nice, fits perfectly, etc, etc, but in the end (no pun intended) it's just too expensive. I have a $70 Tour Master bag that carries 3 days worth of gear. It may not look as nice or fit as well as the Ducati bag, but the $ in my pocket makes up for it. [thumbsup]

any idea how it attaches? nm, found it http://www.hepco-becker.de/anbauanleitungen/650718.0101.pdf (http://www.hepco-becker.de/anbauanleitungen/650718.0101.pdf) i think i may try, if anyone is interested, making more than one would save money, maybe jump in and get something going? lemme know, summer is on its way! jim |
