Heard re-flashing ECU causes more problems than it fixes. Who has had experience?

What sort of problems have you heard?
I have a reflashed ECU( DP spec) for full exhaust and open airbox, and I've had no problems what so ever.
I was talking to a Duc mechanic the other day and he said several have been sent back and others have had loads of problems but I believe most had maps on them not just the code removal. I ask questions at every Duc dealership in the country and amazingly they all have different answers (I travel a lot). Still amazes me the answers I get. I'm going to give the unlock my wife's bike and see for myself. :)
