Title: Problem starting 620 after new ECU install Post by: adgergewh on November 15, 2010, 12:20:23 PM Hey,
My immobilizer was set off, no red key, you know how the story goes. Got Desmoporsche to reflash mine and delete immobilizer. Immobilizer stayed on so Desmoporche sent an ECU from their demo bike. Immobilizer light is off with it installed, but I can't get the bike to start now. :( While waiting for the second ECU, my bike was hit by a car. Could this have anything to do with it? I hooked up the diagnostic kit and nothing seemed to be wrong other than battery having a little bit lower voltage (from sitting I guess) so I hooked it up to car battery and still wouldn't start. Fuel pump engages when key is turned to on, all the lighting works, but nothing happens when I press the start button. I am about to test the starter motor and will post results. Title: Re: Problem starting 620 after new ECU install Post by: adgergewh on November 15, 2010, 12:56:54 PM Starter motor relay is GOOD (scared the poop out of me when it went off). Clicks with 12V application. Doesn't click with starter switch. Anyone want to suggest where I check next?
Title: Re: Problem starting 620 after new ECU install Post by: GAAN on November 15, 2010, 03:39:00 PM I'd look at the fuses and then the starter switch
did the right hand controls take any damage when the bike was hit? Title: Re: Problem starting 620 after new ECU install Post by: adgergewh on November 15, 2010, 04:34:21 PM Fell on the left side of the bike, no visible damage to right side. Fuses were the first thing I checked, all were fine. How would I go about checking the switch?
Title: Re: Problem starting 620 after new ECU install Post by: Howie on November 15, 2010, 09:39:55 PM Check the connector on the back of the solenoid with the two small wires. The red/green wire is power from the kill switch and should be live with the key on. The red/black wire is from the computer, which closes the circuit, allowing the starter motor to crank.

Title: Re: Problem starting 620 after new ECU install Post by: adgergewh on November 17, 2010, 11:15:31 AM I checked the kickstand switch, it's working. I tried jumping the relay IN the bike rather than out of the bike as suggested by Bobby at Desmoporsche and it tried to turn over but wouldn't start completely, so a little progress made. It took my battery down to 6v though so I can't really try it again.
