Title: defective JT countershaft sprocket Post by: victor441 on November 16, 2010, 03:08:21 PM Recently bought a new JT CS sprocket for my M800 but ran into problems when I tried to install it as the threaded holes for the lockplate bolts are not machined correctly and it was very difficult to screw the bolts in. Was able to fix this with a tap but even that was a pregnant dog since the sprocket steel is so hard, the tap nearly got stuck and was afraid I'd break it. Contacted CA Cycleworks and it turned out after checking their stock that mine is one of a bad batch and they are sending them back to JT....also FWIW they got on this VERY fast and since I managed to make mine work said they would make it up to me with a discount on a future order AND are having JT send me a good sprocket so I'm quite happy with the service. Anyway, something to check out before buying JT, no telling how many defective cogs are out there...
