She elected to have the spinal block as opposed to general anesthetic... said it sounded like they were hammering a piton into a rock wall. Pretty cool stuff!

Your leg has some nice bling. What are the two washers(?) over to the right? Congrats to ya. By the way Dan..... My mushroom is not that big! [cheeky] Those "washers" are left over my bike rebuild last year. Part of my snip snip job! Title: Re: My 45K Ti upgrade Post by: Ddan on November 17, 2010, 03:20:19 PM I was talking about that little tiny screw-looking thing off to the right... ;D

Title: Re: My 45K Ti upgrade Post by: sbrguy on November 18, 2010, 01:14:31 AM damn you see stuff like this and you realize that as advanced as we think medicine is, its still at times looks primitive when you see things like metal and what looks like wood screws being used. sheesh.

Charlie, it looks like they screwed your dick to your leg. Is that gonna be alright? Dan, I almost shot OJ all over my laptop through my nose. [cheeky] Title: Re: My 45K Ti upgrade Post by: Bladecutter on November 18, 2010, 07:43:35 AM I had full hip replacement done on my left leg back on March 12, of '09.
I needed it because I had a disagreement back in '98 on my Honda Magna with a woman in her Acura Integra 4-door, who disliked the color of a stop sign. 11 years of pain, and weather changes, plus not being able to get on the bikes I really wanted to sit on came to an end. It still amazes me how much pain I actually lived with every day, that I never thought about and acknowledged, that was suddenly just gone. I didn't know it was there, but I certainly knew when it had left. If you've been in pain for a while, you're going to feel so much better now. I was 24 at the time of the original accident, and 34 when I finally screwed up the nerve (compliments of an angry gf, who said get your damn hip fixed) to get my hip sawed apart. I really wish I had it done years earlier when I had health coverage that would have covered 100% of it, instead of just 90%. My totals were well over $60k. Its been almost 2 years, and even though I didn't pay every penny of it out of my own pocket, it was WELL worth it. BC. I see you know my Ex... ;) Title: Re: My 45K Ti upgrade Post by: Buckethead on November 18, 2010, 08:25:20 AM [laugh] [laugh] [laugh] This thread is full of win. [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]
Title: Re: My 45K Ti upgrade Post by: Bladecutter on November 19, 2010, 07:31:07 AM I see you know my Ex... ;) No, I got rid of her back in '98, right after having my hip forcibly removed by the car. ;) I tried to warn you, but you thought she was hot in bed (which she was). [evil] BC. Title: Re: My 45K Ti upgrade Post by: Pip on November 19, 2010, 11:02:43 AM Congrats on the added lightness, Charlie. Colin Chapman would be proud.
