Title: AMG and Ducati announce partnership
Post by: Slide Panda on November 17, 2010, 05:02:56 PM
Don't think I'm derb'd

"the head of AMG, Ola Kallanius... took the time to announce a new partnership with Ducati. It's nothing very extensive for the time being, as it's essentially an agreement to share marketing arrangements between the two brands.

The most obvious result of the deal will be official AMG sponsorship of the Ducati Moto GP team in 2011. To drive home the point, Ducati trotted out team rider Nicky Hayden to say a few words."

So not really much doing there yet... but might make the 2011 season a little more silly

has everyone watched the video?

Ducati to cooperate with AMG (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9V7RV6iXurI&feature=player_embedded#normal)

at @:23 in the Diavel rider was going wide and touched the brakes coming out of the corner... never would see that on another Ducati vid I bet.

at @:10 in the rider's foot is pretty much dragging on that shallow turn.

Both those instances either say the rider isn't that good, or the Diavel is that bad.

I hope the former

That's the new "apex braking" technique that all of the SBK riders have been trying. It should be standard MSF curriculum within five years.  Look for other street riding innovations such as "throttle chopping for suspension stability" and "hanging off during panic stops."

thats what i was thinking, but i mean... he actually makes somewhat good points.  normally, fake articles are out there enough that you can spot it.  like... go to virgin.com and it says that richard branson bought pluto.  haha

and i think it's far more likely that the electric harley article is the april fools joke

I don't know the details of such transaction from a balance sheet perspective but I'd guess that this would be a good partnership if they let them run separately.

There was a post on another Forum where a track rider was riding a 848 and there was actually a Diavel that was on the track in front of him.

The 848 rider said the Diavel rider was scraping the pegs in the corners and on the straights he was leaving the 848 for dead.

The 848  rider thought that it was a Diavel used during the event of March 25 th. perhaps.

Also he said that had the pegs had more clearance the Diavel would have been fast through the corners as well as the straights.

The Diavel was leaving dust from the pegs scraaping .
