-748/916/996/998 -S4RS/Hypermotard/Multistrada/848 In the front you are stuck with factory or aftermarket -748/916/996/998 -2000+ classic style monsters, no S4RS front wheel For a cheap track day set up for slicks, run stock 748/996 series wheels This would be a good bolt on option for looks and performance at around $2K, you can probably get $800 back for your stock wheels. JUST SAW THAT WITH THESE WHEELS, A SET OF MICHELIN POWER PURE TIRES, MOUNTED AND BALANCED, IS $160 EXTRA! They take a 5 bolt v 6 bolt brake rotor, which all have a 15mm v 10mm offset, made up for in the fork lowers. Basically the rotors stick out 5mm more on each side and won't line up with the calipers. Option 1 is trying to machine the inside of the caliper mount on the fork, the outside mounting face of the caliper itself, and the rotor mounting surface on the wheel to come up with those 5mm on each side. Safety wise, not so sure about this, but at 1-2mm per section I would run it. Option 2 is swapping the forks from a 749/999 or complete frontend from an 848/1098 if you want to go all radial. All SBK forks are 53mm v the 50mm top/54mm bottom on monsters. You can have the top triple bored out to 53mm, use 0.5mm shim stock on the lower, and run bar risers or clip on's to clear the fork adjusters. Your stock calipers will work on the 749/999 forks. Also, most SBK forks will need to be swapped to lighter springs, unless you are over 200 lbs. Hope this is helpful, if not the most encouraging, but it is definitely do able. Let me know if you have any more questions, I am building an M900 i.e. with a 916 swingarm, S4RS 10 spoke wheels, 999 forks, and S4 triples, anything is possible. Based on app charts for aftermartket rims, there are two groups of wheels, not counting the 1098/1198:
Group 1: S4R 03-06 (Y spoke, forged!). Lighter? (F=6.8 lbs, R=8.7 lbs)? S2R800 05-09, S2R1000 06-08 (F=8.4 lbs, R=12.4 lbs) 748 / 916 / 996 / 998 all years Group 2: Monster S4R Testastretta '07-'08 S4RS Testastretta '06-'08 Hypermotard / 848 '08-'10 Monster 1100 / 1100S '08 Based on your info and the above, only the fronts from group 1 fits and rears from both groups fit. Sounds right? I'm getting my stock rims estimated for paint. So, I will either paint my wheels the color I want (thinking gold for now) or sell my wheels and get the 10 spoke rims from the S4R. I like the gold 10 spoke wheels. Do you mean the 10 spokes as the 5 Y spoke designs? Are the 10 spoke (Y spoke) rims forged aluminum? Anyone have weights on them? I weighed mine which I listed above. I'm leaning towards selling mine/buying the 10 spokes over painting. I like the 10 spoke design more than my 5 spokes. If they are forged and gold, that's even more reason. Be very careful about the S4R fronts, as it appears that the 03-06 take the 6 pt rotors which will work, while the newer ones take the 5 pts and will not. Basically no Marchesini 10 spoke wheels that came stock on a Ducati will work on your bike, but aftermarket ones are available.
Factory Marchesini's were cast aluminum, with the exception of "S" models, which had forged aluminum. Forged are lighter. Aftermarket magnesium Marchesini's are available, which are lighter than aluminum, again forged lighter than cast. These wheels fit all of your criteria if you are willing to drop the coin ($3500), though at that same price you can have BST carbons... They are however Gold, 10 spoke, forged magnesium (light as you can get besides carbon), and bolt-on. So, to sum it up; for the fronts I'm on the hunt for Y spoke wheels with 6 bolt patterns from an 03-06 S4R and for the rears, Y spoke wheels from group 2 or also from an 03-06 S4R. Both wheels in gold. I have a red tank/frame/seat cowl. The front fender will get swapped from red to black.

I put a s4rs front end on mine....left the old wheels on for a while (had spacers installed for the different rotor offset). in theory most thins are possible....but....if they are outside the norm then engineering costs $. I think they are forged, and will bolt right up to your bike. They're rare, but can be found on eBay from time to time. They look just like your wheels, only there's some sculptural detail on them that makes them different.

I can't wait to get it! I guess I'm going with a red/black scheme. I plan to get a 5 spoke in the front for now. There is no matching Y spoke front that will fit. I figure it will be ok that it doesnt match as it mostly hides behind the rotors. I'll change it when I upgrade the whole front end. For the white stripes, I'll go over it with a black decal kit.

Since the front can only mount the stock 5 spoker, I just went with it for now. To mount a forged front wheel would require a whole new front end. It doesn't look bad since most of the wheel is covered by the rotors. The front cast wheel actually weighs more than the forged rear wheel!
I just finished bleeding the new clutch slave and front brakes. I later found the bleeder valve at the master cylinder. I would have been bleeding it a long time if I didn't notice it.
