Title: Old cars with an ALIAS, CLONE or version REINCARNATE
Post by: ungeheuer on November 23, 2010, 04:24:17 AM
Ducatiz "dream vintage car thread" set me off on a tangent.....  When travelling its always been a fun game spotting odd local versions versions (or even not so odd) of otherwise familiar cars....

This is a FIAT 600 circa 1959..

This... isnt...

(Its a Zastava 750 from around 1980).

What we have here is a '71 British "built" Hillman Avenger (badged as Plymouth Cricket for the USA)..

(Its an Argentine built 1980 VW 1500.  Proof the VW has no shame [laugh])

'57 Morris Oxford

It looks like a fetal VW bug, but it's not.. it's a Subaru 360

Rear engine, flat four, just like a bug..

Zastava's export models for "The West" were badged as Yugo.  AFAIK Zastava/Yugo never shipped thier FIAT 600 clone outside of Jugoslavia/The Eastern Bloc.....  (Except maybe to Greece).
