Just got news second explosion in Pike River mine .
No survivors now expected :'( :'( :'(
OMG... This is my first hearing about this... I've been through Greymouth New Zealand back in '04.
Heart-felt condolences to the families of those presumed lost... :'(
Horrible news. Condolences to all affected.
I was aware that things were sounding less than optimistic but this lastest report is absolutely terrible news. Horrible for all concerned.
To our Kiwi neighbours and mates, my sincere condolances.
RIP.
Mining one of those jobs you would think would no longer require humans to take such dire risks by working literally hundreds of feet below ground with the advent of robots and such. But sadly we still need people doing the dirty work down there.
May the miners rest in peace only by their risky work are we given the privilege of having so many modern comforts that we all take for granted.

The Chilean miners that were rescued were 2,200ft underground. They brought them up one at a time in a rescue shaft that was drilled. It took 3hrs for each man.
RIP Miners [thumbsup]
Sucks. The Chileans were the exception to the rule. For the most part if shit goes down down there, you're dead.
