Title: removing baffles from Leo Vance pipes HELP
Post by: muskrat on November 28, 2010, 11:05:15 AM
Need help.  My wife got herself some Leo's for her 2002 M900.  Here's a picture of the carbon but she has the stainless http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/6461/Exhaust/6461.html (http://www.monsterparts.com/pc/6461/Exhaust/6461.html)
Question is after removing the screw on the bottom end I thought I could simply pull those out with some vice grips.  There is an angle but I believe if  you pull just right and then downward a little they will come out the back end.  They are pretty well jammed hard in there so I don't want to pull to hard and screw something up.  Will these come out the rear end of the front of the pipe where the connector goes to the stock mid pipe?
Thanks.

Call LeoVince customer service.  They were VERY helpful in explaining to me how to chop my S2R 2:1 setup.  Even gave me info as to what drill bit to use to get the rivets out.

My buddy with leo SBK pipes ended up using a broom handle to knock them out from the other end, but that required removing the cans.  YMMV.

Would it be possible to use a hook of some sort and pull them out? ...think dent puller.

I don't have a rivet tool and I did hear the "coat hanger" method but I'm not sure what end would be best.  Certainly don't want to cut the pipes, they are brand new.
