Yes I'm aware he's not American - but in 30 seconds of footage he expressed more emotion than Tanner Faust in the whole premier episode...
Wonder how that race would shake out on a long track. I'd think that a short n tight would favor the acceleration of the bike, not the car like the narrator says. Title: Re: Ferrari 458 vs. 1198s Post by: djrashonal on November 29, 2010, 11:22:40 AM was just about to post this....awesome!

On a long track with long hard braking sections would give more advantages to the Ferrari for it's suprior braking and aerodynamics. The GT-R beat the 1098 in another comparison for the exact reason. Neverless, love the video. Thanks for posting. Title: Re: Ferrari 458 vs. 1198s Post by: Slide Panda on November 29, 2010, 12:07:48 PM +1. Neverless, love the video. Thanks for posting. Was it the 1098 or the Hyper? I saw a film of a GT-R vs a hyper... managed to miss the one with a 1098. In the Hyper os it was pretty much as you described. The GT-R would get punched where acceleration was needed, but would gobble up the bike on the brakes. Title: Re: Ferrari 458 vs. 1198s Post by: Goat_Herder on November 29, 2010, 12:10:48 PM I remember there's one with the Hyper but it was against a different car... I could be wrong. Anyway, here's the GT-R vs 1098. Good commentary/explanation.

Title: Re: Ferrari 458 vs. 1198s Post by: billruiz on November 29, 2010, 04:07:39 PM I'd have to disagree. Tanner isn't a comedian like the other two, but a talented driver who can hooligan at will. I'm glad they have a deadpan straight guy with two clowns. I'm well aware of Bell's skill, but he was starting to sound like that "Rainbow" guy. I'm glad "Top Gear America" is similar to the British format. I was afraid it would be too much like Motorweek.
Man, they should have Bell on Top Gear US. Yes I'm aware he's not American - but in 30 seconds of footage he expressed more emotion than Tanner Faust in the whole premier episode... Title: Re: Ferrari 458 vs. 1198s Post by: duclvr on November 30, 2010, 02:22:30 AM Cool video, Thanks

Um, no. Schumacher is a better driver than he is a rider. Rossi is a better rider than he is a driver. They are both virtuosos in their respective fields, but not in each other's.
