Totally awesome look into life with a Platoon of Soldiers in Afghanistan on Nat Geo Channel tonight , Monday,11/29,10.
More Mothermake the beast with two backsers and make the beast with two backs on National Geographics than I normally hear in a "R" rated movie.
This Platoon was in the Kroengal Valley in Afghanistan being filmed by Sabastian Junger as a Documentary.
5 Stars Dolph
Thanks for reminding me that was on tonight. It's on in an hour here in AZ. [thumbsup]
I've been paying more attention to the area as of late.

It's on now at Midnight EST.

thanks for the heads up.. watching it now also..
Another interesting war-related documentary to watch this month on HBO..I believe..is Wartorn 1861-2010. It's about PTSD.
Seeing those A-10's makes me miss Davis-Monthan AFB and living in Tucson.
Oooh..did I just see a Strider AR?! [evil]

Damn, Damn, Damn! I worked late yesterday and and completely forgot this was on. Fortunately, I saw it in the theater. Still, I wanted to see it again. Anyone know if it will be playing again any time soon?
Ill look up times on Tivo.

Doesn't look like it's on again. I just searched all upcoming programs on TiVo and it wasn't listed.
Strange as it may sound, seeing that show last night made me miss that place. That valley is one hell of a beautiful location in the morning.
Dammit I missed it!! Got to keep an eye out for replays. HULU???

Worth a rental though.
It's on Nat Geo On Demand in my market. Search for it on your programming guide...it will also be out on Netflix next week (non streaming).
Unbelievable bravery and sacrifice those guys make.
Not just them.
I watched it last night and there was also a show about the Green Berets in Afghanistan which I recorded.
It really opened my eyes to what soldiers are up against over there, that terrain is unbelievable!
There is much more I could write but I can't put it into words. :-\
I missed it as well, but will netflix it as soon as possible. These types of shows are important for. The general populace to understand, and stop being such ungrateful little shits towards the men of our armed forces
El M..that brings to mind these a~holes who protest at soldiers funerals. >:(

Bought it on blu-ray about to watch.
Just watched it again last night and then saw this today..director killed in Libya. [thumbsdown]
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110421/ap_en_mo/us_obit_tim_hetherington (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110421/ap_en_mo/us_obit_tim_hetherington)
Hetherington was doing his own work when he was killed Wednesday in Misrata, the only rebel-held city in western Libya. His family said he was killed by a rocket-propelled grenade. "Tim was in Libya to continue his ongoing multimedia project to highlight humanitarian issues during time of war and conflict," the family said in a statement. "He will be forever missed."
shit
Well shit.
Just saw this post. Suck to hear big time!
Im currently in Kandahar and its nothing like the film. We get rockets time to time but i feel somewhat safe here. I would shit my pants if I was were those boys are. People wonder why they come back different people.
Its streaming on netflix now... really really amazing documentary... it was nice how they focused on THE GUYS fighting the war, and not THE POLITICS.
