Title: custom seat cowl update Post by: jc.cyberdemon on November 30, 2010, 09:35:47 AM Im working on making a fiberglass seat cowl, just wanted to change it up a little
and dont like any of the other seat cowls out there. Ive already done all the fiberglass work and am going to mud it tonight. I am going to post pics when i get home from work. I might also do a tutorial if it comes out good enough. although ive been doing body work for 5 or 6 years ive never fabricated anything with fiberglass,but so far im pretty happy with how it turned out. but I think its coming along pretty good,I need to make a new set of bracket as these are just to hold it while i worked on it fit is pretty nice and wont require any kind of trim around the edges. Black gets really hot here. I used WEST epoxy/microballons for fairing and got scared of the whole thing softening up on me. The reflective red tape stripe down the center and the white numberboard sides dropped the surface temperature down. Live and learn. Now to match the point that the cowl has at the end, you might consider putting a 1098 tail light on there. Pennyrobber did that to his and I always thought it was a neat look - but it would really compliment your cowl nicely.
