Title: Route 395 and Trona
Post by: Duc796canada on December 05, 2010, 09:40:38 PM
Just working in and around the Ridgecrest area, been driving around and flying around the area and wow!! Some nice riding roads and beautiful scenery!! Only issue I have coming from Canada, is that people drive with no lights and it's pretty dangerous not seeing a passing vehicle and not judging closure speed. Unfortunately there are lots of memorial crosses on the road sides and me and my mates think it is due to this fact!! So question is why doesn't the US make it a mandate to have daytime lights? It saves lives!!

On a positive note, I wish I had brought my bikes, Mx tracks and all the good weather, you guys have it made!!

some states, I believe, have a law passed but basically all cars manufactured during the past 5  years all have daytime driving lights with very few exceptions.

Daytime lights are available.  People have the option of turning headlights on for themselves if they wish (I do...but I also wear a helmet in a State where none is mandatory).

If ONE person sues an automotive company alledging real loss because of a lack of daytime running lights they will instantaneously appear on all cars without Gubbamit intervention.  It's just a quick software change in the ECU for most cars.  Many cars in the US already have them, but I think it's mostly to keep from having to produce a second ECU setting for Canada only cars.
