Title: 2009 M696 Correct ECU?
Post by: alibaba on December 15, 2010, 04:50:16 PM
For my 2009 M696 I just purchased a supposedly new DP Termignoni slip on kit including air filer and ECU.  The price was so good I am suspicious.

The ECU part number is 286.4.170.2A

Can anyone confirm I received the correct racing ECU.

The ecu should be labelled as race right on the unit.

...and when installed, your display will say 696 Racing.

I'd also think you'd be able to tell a pretty obvious difference in the way it runs/performs.

I have heard that other adjustments need to be done to the bike so it will run correctly with the changed ECU and pipes.  Is that true, or just a way for the dealerships to get the bike in for some work?

cycle the key on and off 3 times without touching anything else.

Sounds like tapping your heels together three times while saying "There's no place like home!"   ;D
