Tron Legacy is a great Ducati movie.
There's a fun, little chase scene with his Ducati GT1000 Sport Classic. And you also see the dad's vintage Ducati Sport parked outside in a flashback scene.
Anyway, it's a fun movie (although, don't expect a fantastic plot). I saw it at the midnight showing with some friends.
Good times.

I re-watched the original recently so the story and connections would be fresh in my mind. I had forgotten that Clu who we all know from the trailers is the young Flynn in the new movie, was a character in the start of the original movie - a program written by Flynn who appearantly was de-rezzed but it was vague enough that he may not have been terminated.
I can't wait to see the new movie - please don't post any early spoilers!
end of line.
I'll be watching tonight in 3D IMAX. I've read mised reviews, but the original didn't have a complex plot, so I'm not expecting much on that front.
whatever the plot...
i just want to start being able to park my Ducati in the living room behind the couch.

Nice.
I'm going on Christmas day to the theater with D~box seats. Can't wait. Those added effects should keep me awake.

It's also parked in Sams apartment off to side. You see it for just a moment - and it gets a mention later on in the film.
Saw it this afternoon. Not the thickest plot one has ever conceived, but the visuals take a piss on Pandora for me.
Doesn't everyone keep moto art in their home?

After wrecking mine I thought about just wheeling into my new house and have it just sit there in the living room against the wall, though I never put that plan into action.
I will however possibly make a coffee table out of the trellis frame with an oval piece of beveled glass on top. I think the last thing anyone will want to buy from a bike being parted out would be a frame from a totaled bike.
On topic though I also saw Tron at the Samuel Goldwyn Academy theater Thursday night. Very entertaining, amazing theater too.
well he does have the coolest bachelor pad that makes it easy to park the bike in the living room.. you will know when you see the film afterall he is a milionaire.
and of course if a motorcycle is in a movie it WILL BE a ducati as all movies have to have a ducati as the obligatory motorcycle in movies today.
Half the movie was an extended Ducati commercial. I went in there with very low expectations and was pleasantly surprised! Cool movie! How many people did you guys see wearing light suits?
Just saw it today. Pretty cool special effects. And the Ducatis always a plus! [moto]

LOL ... when we went there were a few guys in home-made light jackets, and one girl in a very short dress.
Three of the guys in jackets sat behind us, and they were pretty cool guys. They just had black jackets with that EL wire up and around a few times to look like something out of the movie.

I loved the subtle references to the origional...like the name of the place with his pad was "DUMONT" salvage....
Thanks for the "heads up" about the Ducati content, I wouldn't have gone otherwise.
Epic day, first day of winter, rode my '97 Monster to the nearest theater showing Tron:Legacy in 3D. Took the scenic route, 45 minutes there.
Fun flick, Ducatis, hot chicks, stuff blowing up, hot chick on a Ducati.....awesome.
Rode home in late afternoon sun, geese flying overhead, sun setting on horizon, hour ride home.....perfect.

two bits on the fireplace mantel.
For you BMX nerds, young sam has a sweet PK Ripper bicycle. 8)
I just came back from seeing it. It was the 3D version. I suppose 3D is appropriate for Tron but I wish 3D would just go away. The movie was pretty cool though. I was watching the movie with the glasses on and then taking them off and thinking "This is worthless" but the movie doesn't go 3D until he goes to Tron land, then it was sort of cool, but i'm still not sold on 3D.
Oh, and I too would like to park my monster behind the couch, but it leaks, and even I don't want a leaky bike in the house.
I saw it yesterday. The theater was empty. After seeing it, now I know why.
The 3-D was ok, the D-box motion seats were so-so and the slow scenes put me right to sleep.
The Ducati, game scenes and the two women in skin-tight outfits made the movie.
Otherwise, I would've been sleeping the whole time!
BTW..did anyone else think Tron's ship sounded a bit like a Duc?

+1
Effects-wise it was pretty cool, but otherwise.....meh. Utterly devoid of plot.
ok, i gotta ask: white cat-suit girl? or black cat-suit girl?
i gotta go with gem (white cat-suit) ... i almost had an accident when
she was walking around.
Black catsuit. The trick is to not expect a plot. I went in there thinking I would only like the effects and was surprised when they showed some slight plot. Even though I think the genocide piece was total crap.

black suit girl....but I have a preference for brunette's over blonds...
I dunno, white cat suit girl got me more restless. And I generally prefer brunettes. Must have been the bod.... [drool]
We went and saw it yesterday an were both moderatly dissapointed. It's hard to deny the amazing level of technology especially with the de-aging of both Flynn and Tron. The sheer amount of screen time that the de-aged characters had meant that the digital work had to be perfect and I think that it was. [thumbsup]
There were many little strands that could have taken the story in an exciting plot direction - such as the past history of Quorra and Zuse, the ISOs, the corruption of Tron, the young Dillinger, etc...
I thought that it was sadly funny that Sam knew not only how to fight on the grid (and hold his own) and knew how to ride a light cycle after having been on the grid for less than 5 minutes. [thumbsdown]
When compared with the tone of the origional, it actually holds very true to the 'legacy' of Tron. But it did drop the ball on a focused plot. It's hard to imagine how that could have happened when the movie had been in development since mid 2007.
I suppose that in the end, I'd like to see it again on blu-ray in a directors cut and then reassess my impression.
lemme help you guys out a tad:

I think I have to do an extensive at home study to determine a winner. Spending weeks with each followed by a solid month with both at once, examining every minute aspect of them. If anyone can contact them, let them know for a small fee I will allow them to compete for my affection. ;D

PRECISELY! something about the shape and the way she walked struck a
very primitive nerve.
amazing how evolution can instill such drives in an otherwise rational / analytic mind.

Surely you mean instinct? ;)
Just being difficult, haven't seen it yet, but I find it hard to believe someone could surpass the sheer sensuality of olivia
remember they are going to fill in the past plot lines in the video games that came out with the movie are supposidly taking place before the legacy timeline, so its a great way to build in a way that poeple that are interested in the movie to buy the game. at least that is what wikepedia is telling us about the story lines of hte games and the movie.
and both of the women are hot, i would take either one, but the brunette is cool because she can fight well.

Instinct is the behavioral manifestation of evolution.
