Title: 696 Problems Post by: island_duc on June 10, 2008, 05:39:16 PM I finally had a chance to wonder over to a different board on the forum. I see that the 696's are having all kinds of fueling problems like the 695 and S2R1000. One guy said he already had the DP chip and it was still giving him problems. I thought Gen II of the 695 engine would be better.

Title: Re: 696 Problems Post by: eltristo on June 10, 2008, 10:10:51 PM I hadn't bothered to read any of that yet. Damn shame, really. Remember when Ducati was producing functional motorcycles for that little while there?
Title: Re: 696 Problems Post by: MadDuck on June 11, 2008, 08:39:15 AM The fact that the air cooled engines still suffer performance problems in their stock trim is no surprise. That is a given considering the exhaust and noise pollution specs they have to meet. The aftermarket solutions do seem to work fine. One guy reporting continued problems does not make a trend. It's very likely that other issues are contributing to his problems. Once my friend had the new exhaust and ECU installed on the Hypermotard all of the low throttle jerkiness went away and the bike is total fun to ride now, so I'm told.

(bye bye euro 3) Title: Re: 696 Problems Post by: MadDuck on June 15, 2008, 08:43:49 AM Sure. Just buy a DP exhaust system with ECU and away you go.
