You know you have too much money when you...

What else?
That's an example of not enough money. Poor guy doesn't have a garage for his car.
Or you could do to your fancy sports car what my wife saw a guy in a nice yellow lotus doing. Which was weaving in and out of traffic at 70 mph while everyone else is doing 45mph due to the horrific down pour.
Five minutes later that same yellow lotus was up side down and crushed like a tin can on the side of the road. Emergency crews had not yet arrived. No idea if he lived or not.
Some people are dumb. Some dumb people have a lot of money.
I build houses for insanely rich people. If you think mistreating a car is excessive you have no idea just how huge the disparity between the truly wealthy and us average schmoes there really is.
The excess that some people live in while others are left to die on the street is hard to comprehend sometimes.

so true, the truly wealthy are the ones that money no longer has meaning, when you have enough that 100s of thousands mean literally nothing that is when you are truly wealthy, as in you have a private plane at your disposal and own a winery because "well its something to do", not that you literally run it but you have enough to buy one and say you own it. that is insane.

These are the people I work. Jets, 4, 5, 6 homes all over the world. Wineries just for the hell of it. In my experience they are near universally bastards to their help and to the people working on making the lifestyle they feel they are entitled to a reality. When the get together it is just hours upon hours of prick waving and one ups manship. Which is to say that most of them have no class and are so insecure and unsettled by their position in life that they constantly have to scream from the top of their lungs that they are important and special and better and they should be treated as such. Its sad.
I used to want a lot of money. Who doesn't? But now I'm really afraid that the money would strip away any humility I have and I would turn into a huge asshole like the rest of the rich make the beast with two backss around here. I'd like to think I wouldn't, but judging by the arrogant dipshits I work for I can't be so sure that the money isn't the sole reason for their extreme douchebaggery.

I think it depends on how you were raised. It doesn't matter how much money you have. People who are down to earth, no matter how rich they are, they can be very nice and humble. Although, it is very rare to find that type of people. Generally speaking, majority of filthy rich people who were born with silver spoons in their mouths will act like ***holes and have no considerations towards others who are less fortunate.

I guess I have been lucky, because my experience is almost exactly opposite. I have worked for people with boat loads of cash. they were polite, and respectful, BUT expected to get what they were paying for. If they are paying top dollar for a service, then they are entitled to whatever reality their money can buy. The "help" doesn't have to take the abuse, but they want $$$ too. I'm sure these people get taken advantage of a lot, and just because they have a ton of money doesn't mean its ok. I was working on an estate in Napa, and my boss showed me an article about some deal the owner just made for $215 mill. To my boss, that ment work slower because we were on T&M. My thoughts: "good for him, this hour and a half drive every day sucks so lets just finish already."
I have also met a man whose daily ride to work is a 360 modena. I crashed in on a ride that he was going on, afterwards got invited into his house for pizza, and he even let me borrow a helmet. I think I was painting earlier that day so I looked like a bum. He had tons of dough and was nice as can be. Good for that dude with the snow on the ferrari, if I could aford one, I'd drive it every day too.
At the end of the day, they are special because they have a ton of money. I am special because I have really nice hair... but why waste some much energy with hateful feelings because someone has a few buck?

Don't worry, once your horse gets high enough you can look down on everyone and still call yourself humble no matter how much money you have. Or don't have [roll]
You don't have to be rich to be an insecure/insensitive asshole...old money and new money alike have their share of douche bags...so do tenements and housing developments...

Its not because the people have a few bucks. I don't begrudge anyone their money. I just hate it when people are pricks and use their leverage (in this case money) to purposely degrade and belittle others.
sac
nobody is perfect.
i think that tons of money or the lack of it in either extreme just exemplifies who a person is in reality. because at both ends of the spectrum you truly see what a person is like.
the only difference is that the person with limitless money is allowed to literally buy anything or anyone they want, the poor person has no such power, how each one deals shows who they are.
thankfully, no matter how much money you have, you can't buy your way out of death when your time is truly up. that is something taht sometimes is lost on people with too much money.

I'm already an asshole. Why shouldn't I have the money too? :)
I have personally met, on several occasions, the owner of the multi-company (near 100) corporation I work for. There are multiple buildings in town bearing his name, not the least being a stadium at the local university. Despite all this he is the most down to earth guy you could possibly imagine and is usually dressed very casually, sometimes in jeans and a flannel shirt.
Definitely not an asshole, just your average billionaire that acts like he's no better than anyone else.
I think I'd follow suit given the chance. Life's too short to be an entitled-above-all douche.
Assholes are assholes.
They are born every day.
I went to HS w, plenty of them and they didn't have money ...yet !
Kind of depends on your take on life .
Whether you are thankful for what you have ....or feel like life owes you .
When I was in my Golfing prime I belonged to the local Country Club because mainly I wanted to play the best Golf Course in the area and the Country Club was it.
Having my own Business , I was invited to join and did.
I met many different people from many different professions.
There were a lot of ass bags, but some of the wealthist members were the nicest.
Since I was one of the 4 best Golfers at the " Club " I got a fair amount of respect for my ability .
I didn't pay much attention to the ass bags , it was their problem.
I just wanted to play Golf.
They probably thought I was a snob 'cause I didn't take part in any of their social fuctions ...but I really had nothing in common w, them , I at that time was just a struggling Business owner intent on trying to get a " scratch handicap."
