Title: first oil change, used bike, no oil screen? Post by: Kit on June 10, 2008, 06:36:45 PM First, this is an awesome site.
'02 M620 i.e. 14k miles I removed the drain plug, filter, and screen plug (with the oil temp wire on it), but the screen isn't immediately obvious to me as I expected. There is a hexagonal fitting for an Allen wrench inside which might need to be removed but I'm not sure and I don't want to screw anything up. Do I have to remove this to access the screen? Also there is no crush washer on the screen plug which makes me a little concerned as to how competent the previous owner was on maintenance. Thanks for any help! It is 14mm. Title: Re: first oil change, used bike, no oil screen? Post by: Speeddog on June 10, 2008, 06:47:29 PM And it's likely pretty damn tight. :P
Title: Re: first oil change, used bike, no oil screen? Post by: Kit on June 10, 2008, 07:31:45 PM It is tight, and unfortunately I don't have a 14mm Allen wrench on hand. Looks like my morning commute will have to be on 4 wheels...
