Title: help identifying rearsets?
Post by: Privateer on December 26, 2010, 08:25:06 AM
I was aimlessly going through CL and found a bike with rearsets I haven't seen (not that I'm an expert by any means).

anyone know what brand these are?

from the ad: http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/mcy/2120288882.html (http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/mcy/2120288882.html)

The suspension:
This bike has ALL of the suspension from my 998. This makes this type Monster unique in that it is a 916 style swingarm setup mounted to a monster. You will see that it carries an actual shorter 916 style cast aluminum swingarm. So what did I do to make this happen? I used motowheels Showa fork conversion Cycle Cat upper triple clamp. I modified the frame to accommodate the 998's Ohlins shock, and engineered the upper shock mount. After all this work the bike now has an ohlins rear shock

I didn't want to email the guy to ask him what they were, was hoping someone would know.

Lots of very cool stuff done to the bike, but a lot of $$$ for a 750.

Yup, on Rizoma; they the old style, from pre 05 or so. I have them on mine, but w/o the passenger peg part. They look way better w/o in my opinion...

I have a similar amount of work in a 97 750

if youre putting money in a bike planning on resale value, you are making a poor investment.

i wish they could still be obtained.  while I think rizoma tends to be over priced, their dss rearsets seem to be one of the only shows on the road.  the current ones only come in black which isn't my thing.
