I saw this video and couldn't believe it -- half expected Alan Funt of Candid Camera to appear at some point.
NY's Dumbest; NYC sanitation workers destroy a Ford Explorer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kt_r-jO3lKE#normal)
I'm guessing He Man's bike was parked between the Explorer & the car in front of it?
I am just guessing the drivers are NY union, and won't see a lick of discipline?
mitt
That was horrible. Good to see there were plenty of witnesses though.
That'll buff right out. ;D Oh, and I'm sure the Supervisor will get right on that and make it all better. [bang] How drunk were those guys? Dumb shits. :P
clearly the guy in the loader has no business driving that thing. he should have been able to use the bucket to get himself unstuck.
not to mention, it should have chains on it to begin with.
i was sure that had to be fake, but...

how, exactly, would you fake that?
that sucks. after the first hit, they were like, "make the beast with two backs it. go big or go home."

No. Enough Chinese food refuse would have been dumped on it to clear the snow for at least 1/2 a block. ;D [evil]
I did like how Mr. Plow did inspect the bucket for damage, but no one left a note on Ford's windshield. [roll]
Edit...
I stand corrected...
“They seemed so concerned about just ripping the mirror off. They put a note and everything. And then they went and just destroyed this car.â€
Sorry we scracthed your mirror.

"Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it."

The guys involved will probably be suspended, WITH pay. Otherwise, I doubt anything will come of it.
I hope you ALL get burried in snow and get attacked by zombies feasting on hot brains. [thumbsdown]
seriously though,
"they said they were told to move the vehicle no matter what the cost,”
If that was the case, the city would just write out a $10,000 check to fix the car. You're losing $10,000 easily by having that plow stuck there you know. Each snow storm cost the city something like 3 million dollars to recover from. $10k is a drop in the bucket. Im sure they knew they were destroying the car. but were told to get that plow moving no matter what.
My street still isnt plowed cause theres no where for the snow to go. but really cant u just use the bucket to lift ur self up?
That was some of the most inspired "Your Civil Service In Action" footage I have seen in decades [clap] [popcorn] [clap]
Maybe they should have sent those guys over to my block.. (http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c174/cokey2/IMG_20101227_080113.jpg)
Been stuck in front of my building 3 days now..

not a city vehicle = not their responsibility. ;D

it's the internet!
seriously though, i have no idea. but it was so offensive to all sensibility that my initial assumption was that it had to be a gag.
figured I should put this here too
this city does the worst snow removal [bang]
very fitting that it is a Sanitation car stuck, probably the Supervisor that was supposed to go check out the other debacle.

Not going to lie:
I found his commentary equally as asinine as (tho less destructive than) the plow driver's make the beast with two backsup.

How does a car get stuck in the snow in the middle of the road? Well, I know how. I guess I should ask why.
This is the worst job of snow removal I have ever seen here in the Big Apple! The street shown in the video is one of the few that was cleaned. Mass transit was no better. Subways not running, buses stuck for two days. The Mayor's response: Go see a Broadway show [bang]

Undeniable proof that hybrids don't work in the snow.
